What time are they officially announced?

9am (9 an a half hours to go!)

Can see us definitely either starting or ending against one of: Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Chelsea.

      I Newcastle away first game.

Also interesting to see many of the southampton and reading fans on SSN saying they want us first game at home cause they think they can beat us.

Surely we will be away first and at home on last game of the season for once, no doubt whiskey nose will get the fixtures in the order he wants them.

08/09 was the last time we finished at home (I think) so I think we're due one in that regard!

If we hit the ground running could be a very exciting season.

Christmas time will be pivotal: Southampton, West Ham, Villa, Fulham, Stoke and QPR all in December.

      Really tough start though.

It does not really matter when we play any team,we have to go in with the attitude that we can beat them.Anf if we want number 19 beat them we must, having said that if we win our first 3 home games it will certainly give the lads plenty of confidence.

F***ing hell, City, Arsenal and United all in a row at Anfield!

Means we'll get them back to back away in Jan/Feb too.

If we can remain unbeaten in those three though and get some wins away from home too it could really give us the confidence. Just not looking forward to the minority of our support that would be asking questions should we struggle in those three games...

If Rodgers gets us through the first 6 games unbeaten he will be idolised by every Liverpool supporter worldwide. He has got the opportunity to put himself and L.F.C. on a pedestal  and once again we will be the team everyone else fears.

However, if he doesn't, we shouldn't jump on his back either.

I agree the man has got to be given the opportunity to be a success,we do not want another Kenny Dalglish episode. It is time now to get behind the manager and the players.

100% correct. The last thing we need is a chorus of "we should have given it to such and such" from some diehard fans of another candidate. It's quite possible we could get off to a very dodgy start indeed with those fixtures and BR introducing a completely new philosophy to the club (I'm not saying we will, but it's possible). Lets see where are in three seasons time, then we can judge the fella.

      Very tough start that.

Even our opener - you could argue that nobody in the Premier League is going to know more about us than Steve Clarke will on day one.

What a chance for Rodgers to show his intent straight away. If he can get 5/7 or more points from those first 3 home games, it'll be a great start.

Can't wait for this season now. Between now an then however, there's 2 things we need to do:

      1. We must make sure we keep hold of our best players.
      2. Strengthen the squad (I'd love to see Aquilani have a strong pre season again, but this time stay, and continue that start into the season.)

Number 1, as always is the most important thing.

Hard start for us, but we do play better against the top sides. I think 12 points is achievable from our first six games. I hope us fans wont get on Rodgers back if we have a not so good start. Full on support at every game is needed from us this season. Anfield needs to scare the opposition coming here, something that hasn't happened for a while now.

Just flicked back through and even tyhough a few called the baggies as first game none got it as an away game.

No winner of the imaginary prize then.
