      Limitations on Rotation
      Sep 01, 2012 01:12:08 pm
One effect of the nightmare events on Friday is that BR's ability to rotate the squad, particularly in attack, is seriously restricted.  The risk of burn-out and injury to Suarez and Borini has increased big-time.  Remember how Villa faded badly towards the end of seasons because O'Neill refused to rotate?

The problem applies to midfield also.  The injury to Lucas made it daft to loan Spearing, leaving only Allen to play any kind of holding role.  What happens if he gets injured?

In fact, do we have power to recall Carroll and Spearing in case of an injury crisis?

The same thing happened to Spurs.  They had a very strong starting 11, but they relied to heavily on them and they burned out in the 2nd half of the season.  I think we have a very strong starting 11, but we will struggle if any one of Allen, Gerrard, Suarez, Borini, Johnson, Agger, or Skrtel get injured.  It honestly seems more of a certainty that some of those players will pick up injuries, so we will most likely struggle this term.....

      I highly doubt it....
