He's back in training, he had a power nap during training!

For how long?

Been out since the start of the year with cruciate ligament damage mate.  He'll be back hopefully but it's a bad injury to have at his age, especially as he was developing nicely.  It'll probably set him back a few months but still have high hopes for the lad.

thought the same thing, He really needs to take the time and rehab it well like Rossi or his career will be doomed.  Such a shame right after he was getting back to fitness, i hope LFC will be patient with him

Samed Yesil's season is over after the Liverpool FC striker ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for the second time in a year.

The 19-year-old German youth international, who cost the Reds £1million from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2012, is awaiting surgery after suffering the devastating setback in training.

“Unfortunately Samed has suffered a reoccurrence of his knee injury,” confirmed Reds under-21s coach Alex Inglethorpe.

“It’s a horrible situation for him. He had only just recovered from the previous injury.

“We will give him all the support he needs. He’s a great character and I am sure he will come back strongly from this.”

Yesil only returned to action in October following eight months out after damaging his cruciate ligament on international duty with Germany.

He has made two first team appearances for the Reds – featuring in last season’s League Cup win over West Brom and the defeat to Swansea.

Liverpool youngster heading to Turkey

Liverpool youngster Samed Yesil is nearing a move to Trabzonspor after arriving in Turkey for talks with the Super Lig club.

Striker Yesil, who arrived at Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2012, has seen his progress at Anfield stall after suffering two serious knee injuries.

The Germany youth international is still highly rated by Brendan Rodgers but looks set to continue his development, on a short-term basis, in Turkey.

The 20-year-old, who is of Turkish descent, recently expressed his interest in playing for Trabzonspor and could seal a loan move to the club later this week.
