Just throw any name you know except Owen and Heskey. We surely need some...

Me. I'm more of a keeper but I'll have a go up front like.

Is Arshavin a free agent already or still under contract at Arsenal?

It's sad how many former Liverpool players I run into when looking. Heskey, Sinama Pongolle, Babel(though he already signed with Ajax now). Sadly Babel would've probably been the best option out of all. Unless we want to settle for the great Gokhan Unal, that is.

      This thread makes me sad.

Im going to bed. I hope to wake up to the headline of "Liverpool snatch up Falcao, Cavani and Jovetic after deadline somehow - fergie punches himself in face"

Hate the b***ard, but honestly......I mean are we at that point yet where it could make sense to bring him as a 3rd striker? I don't like him, and I am not saying we should forgive him, but I'm willing to let him play for us if he could help us get into the top four. I mean when he went to the mancs it really did.......no, you know what f*** him. Let him crawl back and then reject him and laugh as he signs for tranmere.

Tranmere is too good for the traitor.I will never forget how he led us all on about signing a new contract when he had no intention.

The point is - according to Ben Smith at BBC - the stumbling block was that BR was only told / he onlynralised yesterday that budget included wages.

All the FSG apologists and those willing to canonise BR already need to realise this is a bit of a f#ck up - not least it appears in communication. We were talking about signing players when we had no money and loaned a centre forward when we're woefully light in this area.

And before all the usual d#cks pop up to say Kenny and/ or Comolli did this, that or the other - I ask again what are we working towards? Because since Suarez /Evra and Kenny's sacking I've had a growing sense of unease and other than stripping out costs and acquainting the boss with familiar faces (no doubting JA talent) that's all I see right now.

Support is unwavering but I am concerned re the direction - not a "yanks out" rant a genuine deep seated worry.

Right its my birthday and I'm off to coach my 9yr olds team wearing me new Aviators lovingly selected for me by my beautiful wife - you lot can have Glynis Barber, Kirsty Gallagher and that Nathalie bird cos she's the one for me!

All is not lost, (i think) we could still get a couple of decent players on loan for the season with intent to sign them in Jnuary. (if they prove their worth by then)  Loans are still operable outside the transfer windows aren't they ? are they? they are aren't they? think they are? anyone 100% on this one way or the other ?

I am pretty sure that loans are only available for special circumstances by applying to the governing body (Premier League I assume) such as not having a keeper - say Reina, Jones & Gulasci all injured.
