Surprise Surprise, in spite of Cameron's feigned horror and revulsion at the Hillsborough cover up, his ministers still attempt to delay the inevitable, F***ing monsters.

                    Hillsborough Probe Bill Approved

New powers to help the investigation of police officers involved in the Hillsborough disaster have been approved by MP's in the House Of Commons.
The actions of over 2,400 serving or retired police officers would be considered by the Independant Police Commision (IPCC) investigation.
The police (Complaints and Conduct) Bill would grant the IPCC new powers.
It will mean police officers and staff would be compelled to testify as witnesses in IPCC investigations.

Why do the tw*ts in the government want to cover-up even more! Just give the families JUSTICE! Let everyone  that was a part of this be sued and the ones (such as that policeman who harassed Lynn) be locked up, or at least kicked from his position. Arghh. It's just ridiculous that this even can happen... Don't care wtf the government says or does. WE know what happened & even thousands of cover-ups won't make anyone believe in anything but the real truth.

There was a statement by the Attorney General and he is fully aware of Anne's tragic situation, to the effect that if people got their fingers out and the beaurocrats were put in their place the process could begin before Christmas.
      Here's hoping Debs.

Cheers Stuey.  From other articles I read yesterday it seems he's just waiting for a court date, he will then put the case to them and a decision will be made there and then.
Obviously they've then got to organise everyone else.

I'm sure though that everyone is ready to go once a decision is taken, let's face it they've had since September 12th to prepare.

The legal process is a minefield of delay mate, the initial announcement about the inquests was rightfully a huge weight lifted from the family's shoulders. The announcement however was a precurser to a long process of judicial proceedings involving points of reference for instance which themselves have taken some time to assemble since the announcement of a review.
Very little can rush the rule of law but the Attorney General has made some optimistic noises in that respect so let's hope for Anne's sake he does have an extrordinary legal rabbit up his sleeve for Christmas.

From Anne's point of view it can't come quick enough but she's got further with her quest now than she's ever been.  That in itself is a result for her.

The whole process of 96 new inquests, followed by the prosecutions and court cases will run possibly into 2014.  Not what Anne needs or wants but this has to be done properly and thoroughly so justice is finally served for everyone involved.

I guess the only thing the AG can do is make sure Kevin's inquest is the first to be heard.

Absolutely mate, which is one thing that won't be lacking this time around.

The fact that the families are being put first this time will make a massive difference to proceedings.  They might not get everything they demand, for example wanting the inquests held in Liverpool but they are being listened to, which has to be a good thing.

As you point out Debs it would help tremendously if the hearings were held in Liverpool, for some inexplicable reason Doncaster has been chosen.

Yeah I thought that was weird too mate.  I'm not sure about the geographical splits between the families but maybe Doncaster's central for everyone.

That is absolutely great news from the AG. One step forward.

Also what do you make of this? It seems unlikely that anything will come off this.

Thirteen English league clubs support reintroducing standing at football grounds, according to a fans' group.

On Tuesday, the Football Supporters' Federation is hoping to win the backing of MPs for its plans for a small-scale trial at Premier League clubs.

      English league clubs backing trial

          Aston Villa
          Brentford
          Bristol City
          Burnley
          Cardiff City
          Crystal Palace
          Derby County
          Doncaster Rovers
          Hull City
          Peterborough United
          Plymouth Argyle
          Watford
          AFC Wimbledon

The Premier League have released a statement opposing the idea.

FSF's Peter Daykin said: "We need to find out if it can work and the only way to do that is to trial it."

But a Premier League statement says they will "not be encouraging the Government to change the law".

It reads: "Since the introduction of all-seater stadia the supporter experience has improved significantly and we have seen more diverse crowds attending Premier League matches, including more women and children.

"The police, safety officers and licensing authorities remain clear and have consistently informed us that crowd management has improved as a result of all-seater stadiums being in place in the top two divisions in this country."

All-seater stadiums have been compulsory in the Premier League since 1994, following Lord Justice Taylor's report after the Hillsborough disaster.

But MP Roger Godsiff has tabled an Early Day Motion calling for government approval of a pilot scheme.

The FSF says the idea has the support of Aston Villa and the Scottish Premier League plus 12 Football League clubs, including Peterborough United, Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Derby County and Hull City.

“I feel insulted that people are trying to fight for justice for Hillsborough while this campaign is growing”

Margaret Aspinall Chair of Hillsborough Family Support Group

The proposal is to introduce a design of "rail seat" currently used in some European countries such as Germany. This incorporates a safety barrier and a flip-down seat on every other row. The seats can be locked in an upright position, meaning two rows of supporters can stand in between the barriers, which reduces the danger of a crush.

This type of standing area would also be able to be converted to seating for European competitions, where all-seater stadiums are required.

A panel of industry experts containing Villa's chief executive Paul Faulkner and West Midlands Police Force Superintendent Steve Graham will present a case for allowing standing at matches at Portcullis House in Westminster on Tuesday.

FSF's safe standing co-ordinator Daykin told BBC Sport: "The debate about standing has reached a point where both sides are entrenched.

"Things have changed dramatically since 23 years ago when the Taylor Report was produced.

"They have moved on massively in terms of technology and know-how around safety in football grounds.

"What we are calling for is a number of small-scale trials at Premier League clubs up and down the country.

"Then experts, safety officers and the police can see how it works in a modern context.

"We have had 50 MPs sign up to Roger Godsiff's EDM and correspondence showing support from more MPs unable to sign."

The campaign for the introduction of safe-standing areas has already met with some opposition from the chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group.

"There are 96 reasons why it should not be allowed," said Margaret Aspinall, whose son died at Hillsborough.

"Standing should never, ever come back. I do not think there is anything safe about standing.

"I feel insulted that people are trying to fight for justice for Hillsborough while this campaign is growing."

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor said on Monday that clubs might have to introduce netting around pitches to protect players.

Taylor was speaking after Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand was hit by an object as his side celebrated the winning goal against Manchester City on Sunday.

This is a very sensitive issue and one which has just defence. I've got to be honest about this and say I am a bit open about this. It's not a popular opinion amongst Liverpool fans but it's what I believe could still work. I don't blame standing as a reason. To do so would be to take weight of those people who instigated the disaster at Hillsborough. The safe standing in Germany is on the whole outstanding but how on earth would that be translated to England? The whole fans experience in Germany is totally unlike England though, fans who are treated with immense respect and importance by the whole league. Give me an option at the moment though and I would still comfortably come down on the side of seating as I would not trust the football authorities at all in England to implement something close to resembling Germany such is their shoddy and all round awful way of managing the game which still stands today.
