Setting up a website

Afternoon all. 

I wondered if anyone knew the basics about how to set up your own website. I am wanting to start up a small business and I can't seem to find the right search on Google for getting a web domain and web hosting etc. Could anyone put it in a nutshell and explain it simply for me.
