This could be the start of something big for us, and as such I'm excited for it. Just quietly, we've gone on a little run in the league and the defence suddenly has a more solid look about it, a good result here could see us beginning to look a little bit like a football team.
I like the team the boss has picked, and although Gerrard and Suarez represent something of a risk he's been sensible with them oth so far so two games in a week oughtn't to be a bridge too far. Any potential freshness which would be maintained for the Everton match would be far outweighed by the momentum a positive result and performance would bring, and I agree with Brendan here.
As for the match itself, I hope very much that Jose Enrique continues to work his way back into the first choice eleven. Equally, I hope whoever plays alongside Luis works hard to fill in the gaps he leaves when he goes a wandering. It isn't just the job of the wider strikers either, Shelvey ought to be getting ready to fill his boots by hitting the holes our star man makes. I've seen some "pundits" on the telly say that Luis should stay central. They are wrong IMHO, the problem is not Luis leaving the centre forward slot, it's that others are reluctant to fill it when he's gone. There's goals in them there gaps, as Sterling proved on Saturday.
If we play well we are a handful for any team, and my bet is that we will and we'll win 3-0.
