Are you seriously saying that Ox is more of a CAM than Keita is??? Then you clearly have never seen Keita play, he's not an out and out CAM in the mold of Coutinho but certainly every bit as creative and positive as Ox. In any case if we need a CAM then we have Shaquiri, I know he's more of a winger/forward similar to Mane/Salah but I'm certain he can play the CAM role and do a damned good job there.
I agree about the CB position but Lovren alongside VVD is pretty damned decent and Gomez is coming along very well and in Matip and Klavan we have adequate cover. Also remember that we now have a specialist DM to help them plus a top notch GK so all in all our defence should be pretty damned strong this season allowing our enhanced midfield and already superb attack to eviscerate opponents.
I can't wait.
I've watched Keita plenty of times and I've been very vocal about him on here. From what you're saying, I don't think you've seen very much of him and you're just guessing because it doesn't make sense one bit.
Neither him or Ox are a traditional number 10 but if I had both available to select then I'd definitely play Ox in the 10 and Keita in the 8. So to answer your question, yes Ox is definitely more of a CAM than what Keita is.
Keita is very box to box. He isn't a number 10 and I'll be shocked if we play him there. If we don't sign anybody else this window then perhaps we will but I'll still be very surprised. It all depends on Jordan Henderson and whether klopp has the bottle to drop him.
My three at the moment would be Fabinho as the 6, Keita as the 8 and lallana as the 10 (until Ox is fit or we sign somebody else). That has far more balance than Fabinho as the 6, Henderson as the 8 and Keita as the 10. Klopp needs to drop Henderson and make Virgil captain. Personally, I think it's crucial.
You do know don't you that Keita actually prefers sitting? He feels his best strength is winning the ball back. Which it probably is actually. He's still very good at carrying the ball forward and he's not bloody bad at picking a pass out or having a shot either but he definitely isn't a natural number 10.
On the cb position I disagree that Lovren and VVD is still 'damned decent'. In Lovren csse, I also think it's irrelevant who is sitting infront of him or who is behind him in goal too (look at dzekos goal at anfield). I don't think he's good enough and he will continue to make mistakes and at some point it's going to really bite us on the arse but I've already voiced my concerns several times, we will just have to wait and see on that because it doesn't look like we're signing a cb any time soon so let's hope I'm wrong. I'm praying he has the season of his life and hopefully he will.
