Seriously though, he’s been playing damn well of late, has something like 9 goals and 4 assists in 17 appearances. He would bring a lot to the team but it’s not going to happen.

Except if we bought him, it's highly doubtful that he'd be thrust into the team straight away anyway. Look at Ox, look at Keita, Fabinho, even Shaqiri...all took time before Klopp trusted them. That's why I think he doesn't like buying in January..he knows by the time he feels comfortable putting a player on the pitch (other than VVD) the season will be winding down.

Only position of sign is CB, the drop off from VVD & Gomez is massive, not blaming lovren for last night, but you always feel there's a mistake there, and he seems to go out of position on the opposition build up alot but doesn't have the pace to recover.

Godin' s contract is up in the summer, someone like that (at 32) to help bring through another young CB like Gomez through

We’re top of the league ffs, surely now is the time to be adding numbers?! I know Klopp is stubborn with his targets but I’ll be pretty disappointed if we haven’t strengthened by the end of the window.

Neither player is a loss IMO. Clyne done well vs United but other than that he’s done nothing in 2 years other than be injured. Solanke hasn’t made a single appearance this season. Don’t think it’s like when we let Sturridge go on loan last winter.

I think I am the only one that still rates Solanke and think he has huge potential. I also think 19m is a fair price. I hope there's some buy back clause

How are they top players? One has 1 goal in 27 appearances and behind Sturridge and Origi in the back up order and the other is 4th choice, behind 2 youngsters and a midfielder for the last 2 years when he’s not injured.

Solanke has potential but that’s all it is, potential. Lots of players have that but if they aren’t playing and get a fantastic offer for them then it’s silly to reject it for him to still not play any part.

As for the journos, they’ve once again proven they know sod all about what’s going on because none of them saw this coming. Yet when they had reported we had agreed a deal for Solanke, within minutes of that Bournemouth are announcing its complete and have already filmed an introduction video of him.

Don’t think it’s a case of thinking more or less of their domestic cups, it’s the fact they are playing what is essentially a national league team. It would be like if we drew Havant and Waterlooville again, wouldn’t see key players in the matchday squad.
