I might be way off here but that reads as the £15m 'add ons' are included within the £75m.

To be honest, I think more would have been made of "Record transfer fee" if it was £15m 'in addition to'.

Either way - it sets the bar that bit higher yet again.

And it goes to prove how FFP  does anything but even the playing field but that's for a different day. 😕

No idea Riba, always rated him but heard plenty of people suggest he had serious attitude problems. Was more using it as a reflection of how Milan have a regular starter for just £1m and now you'd get laughed at offering that for even the worst player in the league it seems.

19/20 seasons but has never won it, that's an embarrassing stat.
If Wenger was less stubborn he could have added a few more PL titles to his tally. This refusal spend big, as Nobel as it was, screwed Arsenal out of a lot more silverware.
There are times when Arsenal weren't too far away, maybe 2 or 3 top players away from being genuine title challengers, (sounds familiar) but choose to go for the cheap option.

We've tried the Arsenal model, it works perfectly from a business perspective, but does little to bother the trophy cabinet.
I reckon were are only 3/4 top players away from being real title contenders. Will we see those players this season? Unlikely unless Coutinho moves on.

The money is just crazy and will only get worse. But it's not just football. James Harden, a NBA player just got payed over $50 mil a year for 4 years. $228 mil guaranteed. He is a top 10 player, but that is just ridiculous for a guy outside the top 5 who plays little defense and struggles in the playoffs. But with all that said the market is what it is, so we just have to deal with it. Not spending won't send any message other than you aren't serious about winning. Take advantage of it while u can (Sahko) and bite the bullet and pull the trigger when you buy (VVD and Keita)

Hey Ian I am not sure about Lacazette myself, scored a lot of goals for Lyon but they have won f*ck all to be honest, he can't get into the international team and only scored 1 goal in a friendly, bit of a gamble in my eyes.

Because we need the players to force through the transfers for us due to their clubs being obstinate about their sale.

Can't see Coutinho wanting to play in France, it's Barca or nowhere I think.
If we're not bringing at least one player in this week I'll start losing patience.
