Not too happy with that loan to be completely honest, I think there were better options. They narrowly avoided relegation last season and lost a few key / experienced players in Rodriguez, Benaglio and Luiz Gustavo. They haven't really bought all that well and up front they have the experienced Mario Gomez and only just bought Dimata (an other young, promising Belgian striker) for €10 million too.

He'll surely get some playing time, but this seems to me like a loan where they want to put them in the shopping window in the Bundesliga rather than a loan to really help him further develop.

So you'd genuinely be depressed if we ONLY got Salah, Ox and Robertson plus secured Keita for next year, come on now, compared to recent windows that is fantastic business by the club. If we get VVD and Lemar on top of that then its awesome and other teams will start to crap themselves.

James Pearce thoughts.....some people interpreting it as "beyond" VVD and Lemar" and some (me) read as a very cautious tone from club.......

From reading reports this morn, looks unlikely VVD or Lemar will sign before window closes, but will see.

Also interesting to see how things go in the other direction, Sahko, Lazar, Origi etc...

Would still be good if we got 1 or two more, even if they were just squad options...
