He went through a bad phase this season and yet played every match at that time.

And that should tell you something. Even when he's not 100%, he's still ridiculously important to how Klopp wants us to play.

I get it, you love Sturridge and have some weird thing against Firmino, but you might as well put the drum away....Firmino is here to stay (thank goodness).

Apparently Zaha has told Palace he wants to leave to play in the Champions League.

He would make nice cover for our front three. At first I wasn't keen on him but after watching him play us a couple of times, I think he'd be ideal under Klopp.

I take it that Origi hasn't shown enough in the past weeks to consider him as that fourth forward in the rotation. I think he has come on pretty well here with more consistent opportunities.

He's valued at over £60 million do you want to pay that for a squad player?

Have you ever heard of rotation of players, you know what we did in midfield all season, why not do that to our forwards as well or here's a radical thought, actually have a player who can come off the bench and change a game!!! WOW Mind blown!!!

Yes yes all for squad depth... but £70 million for a bench player?

      We're not Man City.

Where did the extra 10M come from? you said he was valued at 60M (likely a made up number), and now it's 70?

I agree 80M is really way too much money for Zaha

You still clearly don't get the concept of rotation do you, do you imagine that the midfielders who don't get selected to play for Liverpool one week are sitting there all pissed off wondering why they bothered signed for us, or perhaps they are smarter than you and know they'll play the following week!!

next season our players will face a season 60 plus games including Internationals. They aren't machines they will need rest and get injured and be in and out of form and Jürgen is very good at knowing his players. He will not buy anyone unless they will fit in with the rest of the lads regardless of price tag. Its going to be an interesting summer

he deserves to be considered I think he has been a big contributor these past few weeks/ months and he is a different striker to the others

I think 3 players will be enough. So I think we can afford to spend big on a couple of establish players if needs be. Would definitely want a quick wide player about to hit his peak/prime years and to challenge Mane or Salah.

So, Echo basically says no big money moves, cue Dybala or De Ligt or whomever. Although we've been there before, this time it might actually be true, esp with talks of a new contract for Origi.

Lloyd Kelly rumors are picking up, so there's one of the 2 squad signings, the other might be a GK if Migs leaves.

Have said this before, I hope we make 2 major signings - an attacker and a center mid. Fab has developed into a phenomenal single pivot in a 4-3-3 and I'm just thinking, for rotation's sake, we probably need a deep-lying playmaker who could play a similar role and in a 4-2-3-1 double pivot. These 2 signings will really complete the squad.

But if we target someone like Brandt or Fekir or Draxler, that's multiple birds in 1 stone, so we can reshuffle the pack and might be content with just 1 major signing. Really hope we kick on from this season.

Like we were going with Danny Ward as number 1 and a move for Alisson wasn’t happening.
If there’s anything the club has taught us in recent years, it’s to not pay the slightest bit of attention to what the media are saying. They didn’t even have the slightest clue we were signing Fabinho, not even a hunch.

It’s all bollocks what the media say. They will obviously put a dampener on things at the moment because it gets the clicks they want.
Some tool from the BBC was saying we have £20mill to spend and then deleted it.

I think Origi is going to get a new contract. Adding in Brewster, that would give us the ability to complete play a second front three (if needed). Would we likely ever do that, probably not other than cup ties but still....one longer term injury and a crowded fixture schedule and having backup for all three wouldn't be a bad idea. But who knows. Maybe Klopp will think Brewster and Origi are enough.

Second that. We could do with 1 additional body in both these lines

      Mane/Origi - Bobby/Rhian - Salah/Shaq
      Keita/Milner - Fab/Gini - Ox/Hendo

I think there is always someone better (whether individual or for the team), but on paper, I don't see many that would come in and become a regular in our front 3, at best, it would be rotation or playing with our front 3 for now.

Any players you would suggest that would push Firmino to the bench and make us a better team?

I don't pretend to know enough about other players.

However, just looking at Firmino's game, you can clearly see that other top striker's would be a bigger goal threat (e.g. Griezmann). We would require a fluid striker who fits our style of play, so it would have to be a similar player to Firmino, but one who has a stronger eye and talent for goal.

I recall that Firmino was not a big name player when we bought him. He had immense potential and we were excited at what he could do, but he essentially developed to his current level through the club. There will be others who have the potential to become a massive star through Klopp.

In any case, if we don't bring in a top forward, I think we are missing out. Sturridge will be gone, or he won't play, and Origi is not reliable enough. This is a priority area for me - even if it is back up for one of our front 3.

Lots of the squad leaving it would seem (some kind of already gone).

      almost positive they're leaving....

      1. Clyne
      2. Mings
      3. Sturridge
      4. Kent
      5. Ings
      6. Karius
      7. Moreno
      8. Randall
      9. Bogdan
      10. Chirivella
      11. Ejaria
      12. Ojo

      Maybes....?

      13. Lallana
      14. Grujic
      15. Wilson

Thats a lot of wages gone, and probably some decent transfer fees in. All for players who hardly kicked a ball for LFC this season.

IMO, and it's only a crazy guess work ;D
There is maybe only one player can do Firmino's job for Klopp, it's Luis Suarez.
I believed Firmino is Klopp signing player. Even before Klopp join LFC.
The way Klopp praised of Firmino almost immediately after he join us, and Firmino said something like Klopp promised to make him to be Liverpool's Neymar. Klopp surely monitor Firmino for long time in Bundesliga, knowing him thoroughly  and make him his definite target like VvD and Keita.
Plus the way Rodger seemed know almost nothing about Firmino, so played him at fullback tell us a lot.
Agreed we need a quality utility forward to rotate/cover with Sadio and Mo.

Brewster could be our breakthrough player next season and striker cover. I think cover for Mane and Salah is more important. We need a versatile forward who can play on the wing or central.

Neres, Werner or Depay would be my ideal signing.

Has Depay transformed into a good player since his time at Man Utd, has he also stopped being a total tw*t? I seem to recall multiple stories of how he was a complete dickhead whilst at Utd, more interested in his image and flash cars than knuckling down and working hard.
