Instantly brought that clinical streak back to the team, been badly missed.

Now don't ever release him on England duty again.

Really raises the question of just how much better we'd have done had he not gotten injured. Natural goal scorer, something we haven't had since the he got injured.

Watching Studge weave his way through defenders and putting that goal away with ultimate ease made me think of the Suarez magic.
As with Luis defenders are freezing in an attempt to confront the ever changing impetus that confronts them, his body goes one way and the ball has a mind of it's own.

Daniel has paid tribute to Philippe Coutinho, who he says makes his job easier:

I was being optimistic when I said last week we needed Danny to come back and make an instant impact.

Boy did he answer those calls!

Daniel Sturridge he was running through on goal
singing doo wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy doo
Passed a defender and he slots it in the net
singing doo wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy doo

He scored his goal (HE SCORED HIS GOAL)
He did his dance (HE DID HIS DANCE)
And you better watch out coz' he only needs one chance

Before we knew it he was running through again
singing doo wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy doo
Passing the keeper and shuffling his feet
singing doo wah diddy, diddy dum diddy doo

With his left (WITH HIS LEFT)
With his right (WITH HIS RIGHT)
And you better watch out because he's always dynamite

La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la

Did he miss? (DID HE MISS?)
Or did he score? (OR DID HE SCORE?)

Even though he wasn't match fit, he was a nuisance, I thought the Spurs defence struggled at times. Sturridge will only get stronger and better in weeks to come :D

Also, should've got a 2nd pen for that ridiculous tackle from behind by Dier.

On another day he would have put them chances away and had 2 or 3 goals.

Was very unlucky on the back heel though, Lloris made a very good save too. Lacking that bit of sharpness which we all knew anyway as well as that little bit of luck. But still, played a part in 2 of the 3 goals.

Despite being unlucky with not getting a goal he showed what it means to have a proper forward as a striker the runs he made pulling defenders out of position, I suppose the stuff that gets unnoticed.

      How we have missed him!

Can't underestimate how difficult it is to score a goal like that tonight. Makes it look easy because he's a class act. Absolute class.

Quality finish, great 1st time volley ...took it superbly.

Just makes you think where would we be sitting in the Table now if Danny had not been injured for 5 months!

He should have won a penalty. He is not match fit but when he has a chance, he does his magic. What a volley shot. Fingers crossed.
