      Wow!
After all the speculation about Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, etc, it's been confirmed he'll replace Jupp Heynckes in July 2013.

Gonna post a link when I have one!

Pep Guardiola confirmed as Bayern Munich coach on three-year deal

      • Guardiola to replace Jupp Heynckes in summer
      • Heynckes will retire at the end of this season

Bayern Munich have announced that Pep Guardiola will become the club's new coach when Jupp Heynckes' contract expires this summer.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "We are delighted that we have managed to get Pep Guardiola whom several big clubs wanted and contacted.

"He is one of the most successful trainers in the world and we are sure that not only Bayern Munich but the whole of German football will benefit from what he brings."

Yeah, I knew he'd go there. People didn't believe me on here a few months ago, saying he'd go for the money at City or Chelsea.

Wow. What a big boost for both Bayern Munich AND German football as a whole. I'm excited by this, but hopefully this doesn't mean the end of Borussia Dortmund's success. They've gone about it the right way.

He's not that kind of guy.
I can't wait to see what kind of impact he can have in the Bundesliga, although I don't relish the prospect of Bayern overcoming LFC in number of UCL trophies...

In a way it doesn't surprise me, German football is really pushing on and this is just a further sign of that. Nice capture for Bayern will certainly be interesting to see how he does with a different set of players.

Guardiola vs Klopp will be very interesting to see.

Huge plus for German football, balance of power in European football is steadily moving closer to Germany.

Reckon he may have come to Anfield if we had kept Kenny on this year, and let him bow out end of this season - will never know now.

Realistically - he was never going to go to Chelski or Citeh - too much uncertainty with owners. Will he come to England ? - difficult one that. Doesn't strike me as a manager who reneges on a contract, so 3 more seasons.... ginsoak should have drunk himself into a grave by then, and arsenal will be 11 years without a trophy, so wenger may not be around.

Not really surprised by this Munich are one of the top clubs after all. Plus they seem a lot more steady than some in the prem .

I hope Pep can give the Bundesliga some much needed exposure. It's easily one of the best leagues in the world, and it's only a matter of time before it's battling it out with La Liga for the top spot. What German football has lacked is good exposure to bring in more money internationally through TV deals and what not.

Poor old Abramovic, the one manager he actually wants he cant get, love it! If he does even half as well with Bayern then they will have a lot of success over the coming seasons.

Can't blame him. Munich is a fantastic city, Bayern are a massive club and 'Da Bundesliga' is improving every year. Thought he would go to Man City though. He would have made City more attractive than Mancini.

Rafa might move to City if Mournho goes back to Chelsea.

Fascinating move. Shows that he likes to be a bit more classy and ambitious than his contemporaries. It would have been awful if he'd gone to Man City and Chelsea - two clubs devoid of any passion and any purpose.

I've been banging on about the German model for a while now, but I'm not sure it will ever happen here because there are too many vested interests and too many people looking to make a few quid.

I can see German teams dominating Europe in the next few years, and they've done it via a sustainable model.
Yes it took them a while, but they are going to reap the rewards.

This is a fantastic signing for Bayern, and will really raise the profile of the league in general.

Fair play to them and I hope it works out.
Now we'll see how good Pep really is after people saying the hard work had already been done for him at Barca.

So who will Robben & Gomez be playing for next season? Guardiola shipped out the likes of Zambrotta, Deco & Ronaldinho early in his Barca career, Deco & Ronaldinho due to their egos and attitude. I can see Robben fitting into this category. Plus they have Shaqiri coming through who looks a real talent. Maybe Isco to Bayern?

I think he might give it a season or even half a season before he starts shipping some of the "bigger" players out, unless of course they just show a terrible attitude in pre season.

At Barca he knew exactly what he was going in to. When he as manager of the B team they often had friendlies against the senior team. He could see the attitudes and egos, he knew that there was no unity in that team. I think it was his first press conference as Barca manager he came out and said he didn't want Ronaldinho, Deco or Eto'o, he had them well sussed out.

I reckon everyone will get a clean slate at Bayern, but he'll have a very exact plan in mind and everyone will need to prove they can work in that plan and as a unit.

Rafa to RM and Maureen to Citeh would be ideal for me. I don't want Maureen at Scum, just like I don't want Rafa staying and being successful at the Chavs.
