I think it could go a different way than a few:
While I love Lucas, I don't think he has the confidence to really put pressure on others to perform, also his role in the team is quite a quiet one that is hard to change momentum with, neither is he one of the most vocal.
Keepers don't seem to make good captains for the well documented reasons so for that reason alone I would rule Reina out.
Suarez is the perfect candidate to lead by example and to have the confidence to call for more effort from anyone within the team but when things aren't going our way I don't think giving him even more reason to confront referees is a good thing. He also plays his heart out every game so you're hardly going to get more effort from him by handing him the armband.
So personally I believe Agger is the stand out candidate. The manager has already called him the best left-sided defender in Europe, so he has ultimate faith in him and therefore his position in the side seems guaranteed despite a drop in form recently. He most certainly has the attitude to call for more from people not applying themselves, the only niggling doubt I have is it could flare up some incidents into something more than they need to be, but the negatives will be far out weighed by the positives.
