Had heard on Talksport a few weeks ago regarding a Championship player (I think either blackpool or rovers) that had been there a long time and was retiring, there was going to be no testimonial unless he requested one...thought that was pretty shabby and don't remember the name of the player but at least so far we have not stooped to that level yet.

Too bad we couldn't get Milan over ;)

You never Know Baros might pop over ;D

Not many players spend their entire careers at clubs these days and we have two in our ranks.

Thinking back through the years Gerrard has helped give us some very special memories, he deserves his testimonial.

Wonderful recognition for my favourite player of all time (not just LFC). With this exciting announcement, i will recall Stevie's own favourite LFC first XI of all time. Maybe the owners can make it happen for Stevie.

                                                                      Pepe Reina

Markus Babbel      Sami Hyypia      Jaime Carragher      Glen Johnson

                                                                     Didier Hamann

                                                        Steven Gerrard        Xabi Alonso

Robbie Fowler            Fernando Torres           Luis Suarez

I'm surprised he didn't choose Riise ahead of Johnson at left back.

That bit in bold, it's a bit sh*t isn't it? 15 and 16 year olds having to queue up with adults just to buy tickets to sit with their mates.

It's even more pathetic when you find out they do singular junior tickets for away fans, yet our own have to jump through hoops just to get a testimonial ticket.

The future of our support already being treated with contempt by the club!

I think Stevie and Carra will probably be the last local lads to spend their entire career with Liverpool Football Club.By and large these days most footballers are mercenaries and I don't suppose they can be blamed for using the system.Stevie and Olympiakos deserve full Kudos for donating all money to charity.Well done.

Not a bad start for your wife. You'll have to explain to her that it isn't every game that the crowd claps every player from both teams.

Torres ?  "Finger" and " down throat " come to mind.

I see he is not " depressed" anymore.
Pity he couldn't play like he is now doing ... the last sulking 18 months with us.

At least Stevie stands tall as a club legend .

As much as it will make me cringe seeing Torres & Owen in Liverpool red and it will, we have to remember it's a celebration about our skippers fantastic career, and those two Kunts were part of it, despite what they did, they will be forever part of Stevie's life at Anfield and we will never change it, we have to respect that no matter how much we disaprove.
