Are the media liable for mis-ineterpetation?
      Jun 01, 2013 02:17:00 am
Surely his exact word's where fcuked up to the whole world to suit SSPORTS world audinence?
Dont even know where to start with this but surely the media must be held to account for sensationalism and having to broadcast "word for word" what was actually spoken. Yes he wants away but the whole "no support"lark must be liable to somebody?

Everyones words get changed by the press. He should know and decline to discuss this.  He used the media for his smokescreen of an excuse... so of course Suarez is responsible.

No smoke without fire as they say. And yes, give the media a snippet of information and they will explode it into whatever they can to make sensatuional headlines.  All these type of stories get massive coverage, then if they are taken to task, they print an apology the size of a postage stamp in amongst a page of advertising so no one ever sees it.

It's not about changing the words it's about changing the context.

The real translation from "Spanish-English" word for word is nothing near what the tabloid/SSN broadcast is my point. Twisted to sell/stir a media frenzy on their behalf is all im saying. Now we all know what Suarez said in his lingo about will i stay or will i go,but for certain sources to twist it so inaccurately to make profit making headlines purely to generate sales has to have some recourse. Its akin to a youtube "Hitler's not happy about............(then dub till your heart's content be it.........postman pat........to barrack obama) type video.

Not forgoing the fact of course that Luis being an indiginous Uraguayan will speak a colloquial form of that countries interpretation of Spanish.
It can be compared to English spoken in S. Africa, America, Australia etc, while discussing interpretation in grammatical form let's not forget the media are prone to an ambiguity regarding the precise recording of actual events. A convenient lapse which can and does fill news space with complete bollocks in an effort to induce the gullible to part with their hard earned.
There are unbelievably global media news corporations that practice the above and thrive.

Most UK journalists can't interpret the English language or the grammar, punctuation or spelling correctly so the possibility they can translate from a foreign language accurately is quite laughable Stuey.
