Liverpool are tracking Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz

Liverpool are keeping tabs on Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz, Sky Sports understands.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is drawing up a shortlist of targets to replace Luis Suarez, should the unsettled Uruguayan secure a move away from Anfield this summer.

The likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in Suarez and should he leave Liverpool, Rodgers will be keen to bring in a big-name signing to help fill the void.

Yilmaz is regarded as one the best strikers in Europe after impressing for Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League last season and the Turkish international is thought to be on Rodgers' radar.

The 27-year-old scored 32 goals in 39 appearances for Galatasaray last season after arriving from Trabzonspor

Galatasaray president Unal Aysal recently admitted they would be prepared to sell Yilmaz for the right price this summer.

"We have set a price for Burak Yilmaz. We will only consider an offer which is in the best interests of the club and player," admitted Aysal.

"If Burak wants to leave and our transfer demands are matched, we could accept a deal."

Another one like Cissokho and Villa, pops up every window this, would be surprised if we ever even scouted him.

Not sure about this one, he scored lots of goals in the UCL but I didn't watch much of Galatasaray. He seems a bit of a late bloomer too, not long ago he was playing for some sh*t Turkish side if I'm not mistaken.

would be near unstoppable, if we can find a good AM to sit behind them then that would be a formidable attack, with Aspas/Alberto coming off the bench, Sterling and Ibe providing even more pace and trickery.

Just hope Yilmaz isn't contingent on selling Suarez.

Think most UK based people might have seen him on the CL highlights show, that's about it really.

I've heard a lot about him but never seen him play myself.

Looks like a good natural finisher but maybe this is his peak and it will be hard for him to match the season he just had.

As others have said, I have no idea about this lad - unlike some on here who watch all the football in the world (check youtube and wiki - pass off gleamed knowledge as their own) I have seen absolutly nothing of him. Still, if the gaffa wants him sign the lad up!

I wouldnt call myself a expert on Turkish football but i can honestly say that i have seen gala play few times on unibet streams. Yilmaz would be a good buy imo. I would describe him as a typical striker that keep making runs and looking for the ball, isnt shy infront of the goal nor is he afraid to clash with defenders.

Perhaps I'm confusing him then, I seem to recall a similar rumour the last couple of windows, but I wouldn't bet my life on that statement.
