It's always hard to judge in a friendly, but anyone else think it's a good sign that Toure wants the ball so much?

Yeah and willing to get beyond the half-way line too. Yet to see a forward pass from Joe Allen though.

I've seen Allen pass the ball forward. Don't think we can judge either Allen or Henderson in midfield though because Preston are giving so much space for us to maintain possession.

Sure you've been watching? He's kept things ticking over and played one or two through balls.

*edit* You're right Mossy, they're so pre-occupied with Coutinho, Henderson and Allen are getting plenty of time on the ball.

Mignolet has his first save to make, and it's a comfortable one diving to his left to keep out an effort from outside the box.

Great stop by Mignolet. But that was some pretty sh*te defending by Flanno. You can tell he's out of sorts at LB.

You can tell both are a bit rusty. Wouldn't mind seeing those two together though if Sturridge isn't fit.

Borini misses a one on one after a good run from Flanno. Should have done better there. Went to roll it past the keeper but missed the target. Half a minute later he turns well away from a defender before dragging a long range effort well wide.

Yeah I've been watching and I'd disagree with you, seen plenty of Coutinho trying through balls, some from Hendo, but none from Allen. He's barely passed the ball beyond 5 yards around him. Perhaps you've got a bad stream?

Hendo has been the one keeping us ticking and actually offering a threat of a pass forward and Coutinho really showing the main threat of all, complimented nicely by great movement and fantastic goal by Ibe.

      Yes!! Good goal Ibe!!

Good play from the midfield, Agger is released, he gives it to Ibe around 35 yards out, and Ibe dribbles to the D, drops his shoulder and puts a low effort into the near corner.

Wow assaidi could virtually pass that in and was almost looking for the pass there, great play from Coutinho there to slide him in.

Good half overall that, expect the entire team to change for the 2nd half.

Positives obviously Ibe's goal, delighted for him, the influence continued of Coutinho  and the assured performance of Hendo. Negatives have been Assaidi who's looked woeful in possession besides 1 or 2 crosses, Flanno defensively outside of the first couple of minutes has looked a bit of a liability and Allen's lack of influence on the game given all week on the ball by Preston.
