      Matri (Juventus)

Alessandro Matri’s move to Napoli could be hijacked by Liverpool now that Juventus have set his €12m price-tag.

I saw him many times because in Malta Seria A is watched a lot. He has eye for the goal but he is sometimes inconsistent.

Seen him a few times, good mover if we could swap him for Borini would be like an upgrade basically. Both have similar movements but Matri is the better finisher (at the moment).

Just looked at his wiki though and didn't realise he was that old, 29 almost, with that in mind and him clearly not being better than Sturridge or Suarez I don't see a 29 year old coming to be 3rd / 4th choice.

Would pass on this if I'm honest, would prefer Aspas / Borini given his minutes after realising his age, thought he was a few years younger than that, mediterranean diets eh?

Matri is a good player, but isn't someone who will improve our 1st 11.  He'd be behind both Sturridge and Suarez, so I'm not real excited by this one.

Saw him live the other week, not too impressed. Doesn't offer anything in particular.

I don't think Borini is useless.  He scored 9 in 12 for Swansea.  If he went back to Swansea he could be good.  I'm sure Swansea would take him for 10 million. Napoli were offering 15m. We need to give Borini a chance in a 442. 433 or 451 as a winger or centre forward doesn't suit him. He prefers having a strike partner. I'm surprised he hasn't had that chance at Liverpool. He's hit the post 3x more than scored for us. Amazing stat.

Swans have Bony and Michu why would they want Borini?

Because he proved himself there before and teams need more than 2 good strikers. Personally I don't think he will make it at Liverpool because our formation doesn't fit him.

I'd give him one more injury free season to prove his worth. If he doesn't produce the goods then sell him next summer to an Italian club. Would p*ss me right off to see him bang in goals for another premier league club.

Can't see him turning down Napoli for us, they are in the Champions League, signed some cracking players this summer and are contenders to win the league next season.
