U.S Reds can now watch all the Liverpool matches live on TV
      Jul 31, 2013 01:31:10 am
For any US Reds who are forced to watch the games online with buffering streams can now watch every EPL match.  NBC Sports bought the rights to the EPL and are going to show every match on TV and Online for free.

      http://www.sbnation.com/2013/7/29/4568642/2013-14-nbc-epl-tv-schedule

The matches will be shown on the NBC channels like NBC, NBC Sports, MSNBC CNBC and a few others. They also will stream the matches in HD through the NBC Sports page. You can now watch them on the IPAD. IPOD and all Android and Windows devices. They're going to show 10 matches, live on Saturdays and Sundays and any Monday matches.

Go to http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra/  to find out if your cable provider offers it.  If your cable provider offers NBC Sports Network you can get the Live Extra app and watch the matches not shown on TV.

For me this EPIC. Its really hard to find a good stream online and even if you find a stream, sometimes the buffering is horrible.  To be able to record the matches on my DVR and watch later If I miss it live is awesome. Plus with the time difference its hard to watch every match live, I cant go to a bar or pub because theyr'e not even open.

I cant wait. I'm actually getting anxiety waiting for the Stoke match. :couch:

Nooo. Seriously, the worst place in the world for watching Premier League matches on tv is in the UK! Sky are at every single match filming them but only show 2 or 3 each weekend and Sky is pretty expensive anyway.
The BBC shows highlights of the games for free but those don't start until around 22:20 at night.
BT (British Telecom) have secured the rights for some games this season to be shown "free" but you need to be one of their customers so that's not actually free either.
Now you see why we're always hunting for streams on match day!

I'm hoping this is going to go a long way to the EPL gaining more support over here in the states. MLS is doing pretty well but with this deal, us dirty yanks will be able to watch more EPL games than MLS games. With the national team on a bit of a tear right now, this could really boost the popularity of the game over here for the foreseeable future...which is a good thing. I'd like to see it push baseball out of the top 3 (NFL, NBA, MLB).

If you have Setanta then you can watch 12 of the first 13 premier league games of the season. 9 are on Sky/BT Sport.

There's always better deals going these days than the rip off that is Sky. Thought I might have to give in to sky when they bought the f1 rights in 2011 but i've found it easy to follow the races online via streams. Those bas**rds won't get a penny!

And just to clear up.  It isn't "free" per se.  We do have to pay a basic cable fee of about $30.00 per month and another five for the additional package that includes about a 4 million sports channels.  Everything is HD.  DVR is free.

I'm usually up at 5am so 6am works for me. I'll be ready to go at that point. Can't even begin to express my excitement that I'll be able to watch all LFC games.

I have to pay over $50 per month to get NFL Sunday ticket to be able to watch the Cowboys play every Sunday. I would have considered doing that for LFC had it been an option but now I don't have to ;D

I think I remember, may be wrong, but didn't JWH have the idea of paying the club for live streaming of matches but then got told that sky have the monopoly?

I am paying about £5 a month for LFC.TV so that I can watch the friendlies...i would pay double that, £20 or £30 fuckit even £50 a month to LFC to watch the matches live. But I guess we dont have that option in the foreseeable future.

I actually feel sorry for you guys now... here in South Africa we have Supersport who have the rights to broadcast EPL matches (over 6+ dedicated channels),selected La Liga, Serie A as well as the Bundesliga matches as part of the DSTV (satelite) bouquet.
Thus far i have seen all the pre-season matches live and should see all Liverpool matches during the season too.

I still envy you being able to watch them live at Anfield, but hopefully one day i could take the trip over there.

That's the plus side of living here, of course but in reality, it's difficult to get tickets to competitive matches and very expensive. Great experience but not that many of us are lucky enough to go regularly so unless we can find a stream, we can't watch the matches at all, aside from the ones Sky choose to show.

Yeah at least on weekend mornings I don't have much going on. But afternoons during the week, forget it no chance I will see those games unless it's on tv and I can record it (which now it will be).

We can but it isn't always possible. Apologies if I was coming across as having a go at fans outside the UK, I wasn't. Just think the Premier League need to sort their TV rights out. Pricing a lot of people out of the game.

We can but again, we're restricted to the games that Sky want to show. Also, they charge pubs such a ridiculous amount to show games, fewer and fewer pubs have Sky now.

If you know the right pubs you can... ;)

The ones usually with massive satellite dish that picks up broadcasts not meant for the UK.

Your right..The biggest issue for me was the time difference. But, now with this NBC deal, I can TIVO the matches and watch them if I cant watch live, Which is a BIG plus. Plus I wont have to worry about poor streams and buffering.

I wonder who the commentators are going to be. I hope we get the regular, English commentators.  Their is something weird about watching a Liverpool/United match and it has 2 Americans talking. Its just wrong.

I really hope that NBC scores big on this. The EPL is far better to watch than Baseball and Basketball, IMO. I think if NBC does it right they will get a lot of viewers. I know people who never watch Football and when they watched the Man City title game 2 years ago they said it was one of the best sporting event they have ever seen.  The game is finally getting recognition in the US. People watch the WC and they do get decent numbers for the FA Cup final and the CL Semi's and Final.

F***ing rip off. I live 10 minutes away from Anfield and I can't afford to be pay those kind of prices for telly.

I think its crazy that people who live within 10 minutes of Anfield cant watch the matches. Its not that bad here with the NFL.  The NFL has weird rules for their games. In order for a local team to be shown on TV the game must be sold out and they have Blackout Rules which show a national game over local games. But for the most part I am able to watch the local game.

You can get the NFL package on DirectTV which is satellite. But the NFL package is about $350/season. If you own a pub and want to show the games it costs $800 for the package.

That's an interesting rule. Thing is, and I don't know how it works in the US, but in England the first half of the seasons games are scheduled by TV companies before the start of the season. I think I am right in saying Sky get the first pick and then other companies. Then a third or so through the season, it happens again for the last half of the season. I like the NFL idea but unless this changes in England, it won't happen.

As for pubs showing games, Rep made the point that Pubs are charged ridiculous money for the TV package. Plus, it does piss me off that if you can't watch the game at home or a mates, then the only other option is a pub where alcohol is just sitting their. My brother watches games in a Brazilian cafe in London. Would love options like that.

It's really sad. Whether its the ludicrous ticket prices or the tv packages, fans are being held to ransom disgracefully in England. I F***ing hate Sky and their swooshy adverts pretending everything is alright and that it's somehow a great deal when in years gone by you could get the BBC or ITV to screen the matches for free.

I think every country should have free viewing of their own league. I don't mind paying for foreign leagues, but for our own league it should be free.

If you know the right pubs you can... ;)

The ones usually with massive satellite dish that picks up broadcasts not meant for the UK.

      I love my local.

Wow, that's unbelievable. We get evrvy game live here but it's not free. You have to have paytv which a lot of people do. If you go to a pub, they show all games live there too, you just have to ask one of the Bar staff to put your game on but it's always more comfortable watching it at home.  :chongin:

I am excited to be able to watch all the games. My dad and I would get up at 6am to watch the games. I have satellite with the sports package so we could watch quite a few games last season, but not always LFC. I am looking forward to this season in so many ways.

I am actually blown away that we have a network showing all the EPL matches for free, on regular TV, all week and the UK viewers dont.  I dont understand it.

I wonder if we could figure out a way to show those streams on this forum? At least show the Liverpool matches for our UK friends.  Any Ideas?

One thing I noticed about US supporters.  Most people follow 2 teams United or Liverpool. But, the people who follow United dont know sh*t about Football or even their own team.  The US Reds....they know Football. They know the players, history, coaches, Anfield. They know the KOP and Shankly and Kenny Dalglish etc..   NYC has a huge Liverpool supporters group.

Here in the US, for all the time i have lived here from home in England, i have always managed to see every LFC game live...mostly on TV or occasionally via the internet.
Fox and ESPN have done a fairly good job.
My worry now is that NBC, not having any dedicated EPL channels will make it so hard for us fans to actually find the games and if working, unable to set our DVR's or Tivo's to record it.

Their website has been hugely vague and annoying no matter the amount of money they have spent acquiring the rights and stating that they will show all the games...info is hard to come by.

They released the schedule for up until Christmas last week.  All of our games will be on either NBCSports , NBC or CNBC.  I too was skeptical when It was first announced last fall that NBC was taking over the Prem rights.  But it looks like it's going to be great for us.

BTW that video that Huyton posted is funny as fook.

Mate, can you guys not watch it live in pubs over there?

Not 3pm Kickoff games and not all of them. I am not sure why, but I am sure there is a stupid reason...

Basically LFC will be on TV about 10 times this season across 3 channels - so you can watch that. But for each month you subscribe to all it will cost £30 a month, on top of any other charges the broadcaster see's fit. Its a joke! This is proabbly why so many people stream games on their PC - and will in time when this gets better stop paying for TV all together. This will result in prices coming down so everyone pays - or going up to make up a shortfall (i would guess the latter until 1 person is paying £200Million a year to watch the games!...

NBC are going to have dedicated channels.  Saturday and Sunday matches are going to be shown on all the NBC and NBC owned channels. NBC, NBC Sports channel, MSNBC and CNBC and a few others not listed yet. But they are showing 10 matches on Saturday, 10 matches on Sunday and any midweek matches. If you go to my link below you will see the schedule for the matches up to December.

      http://www.sbnation.com/2013/7/29/4568642/2013-14-nbc-epl-tv-schedule

They also have NBC Live Extra which will show everygame not broadcast on regular TV, shown online and on Android and Ipad/Ipod devices w/ the NBC App. They will also have a nightly EPL recap show like MOTD. As long as your cable provider carries NBC which every one does, you will have no problem TIVO'ing the matches. Just follow the link I posted above.

      Hello, Liverpool FC forum!

New fan from the US here. Just saw my first-ever Premier League game today. In the week leading up to the start of the season, I did some research into the league and Liverpool sounds like the kind of club I'd like to support. I've already been rewarded by witnessing that exciting save by Mignolet.

Hope to learn a lot about the sport and the league by visiting this forum throughout the season. Will try not to be too loud.

I always kill the commentary, there are very few that can give an accurate, unbiased assessment of what's going on, you can see the action and come to the same conclusions without being influenced by an affected viewpoint.
You don't even get a genuine feedback of the support in the ground because there is even a bias in the respect of where the microphones are placed during the coverage.

The US version of Match of the day was on last night.
      Pretty good....very surprised.
Only issue is that it was on TOO early!
Back in blighty we go to the pub and then get home for 1030p for the show when we are nicely pickled!
Oh well....the joys of Tivo & DVR i suppose.

Also wish that they changed the in studio pundits from the day match pundits and also the studio design.
It would make it feel more special and a bit more like the real MOTD.

Regardless, its great to have a British format for a  fine British product that is the Premier League....Thanks Yanks...shows you guys are getting it and not utterly americanizing our league.

Oh...and Rebecca Lowe did a great job.

I live near Vancouver BC Canada and get every game BPL champions league, Europa, FA and league cup and have done for years for $15 a month for what was setanta and is called sportsnet world over here. Was over 2 years ago and can't believe how badly you lot get ripped off with cable tv!   They get us back with the mobile phone plans here though that are shocking!

I am thrilled with what NBC has done. It's not perfect but what is? The amount of games on offer is probably unrivalled in any country. Studio guests could be a little better and maybe they will get better at the analysis but the bread and butter is the match coverage of which I'm delighted with.

No worries anymore about getting off early for the game or getting it on play-back, the vast majority of alehouses stay open now till midnight or whatever.
It just turns ends up as a reason to get more ale in and you've got to watch it on play-back anyway 'cos of being too pissed to remember the score.

Good on you mate,I would say that once you have seen Liverpool like you have described you will well and truly have the Liverpool bug.I hope you have many years of supporting the best club in the world, cheers.
