I am pretty interested to see how this team will play because for most of them it's going to be a big season. Let's see how they are looking early in the season.

Pretty amazed to see all of the moaning about the team. Everyone needs a run out, not just the likely starting 11. Can we not slag off the 2nd team'ers just yet?

Also maybe Brendan is happy with the fitness levels of the starters and is giving them a bit of a rest with such a short turnaround.

It's playing Jay and RB that gets me FL.

Kelly needs more game time than him and it's his position.

Not saying he isn't, but do we know that Spearing is playing RB? Maybe BR is experimenting with a new formation for this match?

Great to see Hendo as captain.

The only really problematic thing is Flanno at LB and Spearing at RB. Allen/Henderson partnership might be a bit weak, but I don't mind it in a midweek friendly. It's clearly a run-out for some of the non-starters, so not sure I quite understand the reaction. We have another friendly at the weekend, so there's the first team.

As for today, I'm at work. Counting on this thread and Twitter for the updates.

Happy for Jordan getting the armband! He must feel proud to have been chosen, even if it is a friendly.

let's not be harsh, nice to give the seniors a rest before Celtic which is the proper run before Stoke. Be great if the young lads here keep our clean sheet and win record in pre season just for that confidence, hope Alberto does really well and takes it all in his stride towards becoming a good player for us.

The first team will play against Celtic, This is for fitness and I'm sure the bench players will get a run out today too. Such overreactions to a pre-season game F***ing hell.

This is clearly nothing more than a fitness exercise and a chance for some who are outside the first XI to play themselves into contention I guess.

We were in Valerenga 2 years ago so don't understand why we didn't try a different part of Norway. Or go to Denmark.

Aspas probably should have scored there.

Aspas should have scored again...good save by the goalie.

Great strength by Ibe to make something out of not much.

Love Ibe's commitment. Strong, powerful, quick and skilful to boot.

Ibe has so much more strength than Sterling, he basically just pushed his way past his defender one on one and got in a great cross to Aspas in a scoring position.

Allen is looking very good here early. Very tidy.
