Fact is he is by far our best defender at the club. Underpinned our run of undefeated games from December to March because the defence was so solid with him in the middle of a back three.

He even made Skrtel look good.

This is the worst post I've seen in a while. People are entitled to have opinions and if they happen to not rate a player then so be it. It does not make them a racist if that player happens to be black. An utterly ridiculous suggestion to make.

As Swab said above his passing is not only excellent he always tries the more difficult ball and is very attacking in his use of the balk from the back.

Agree 100 percent; Sakho is our best defender. But the key is that first step: Keep Sakho fit. 18 and 16 Premier League appearances the last two seasons. Hope to see at least 30 league apps from him this time around.

Best defender no doubt, but like I mentioned he needs to improve with his composure when put under pressure, he surely makes adventurous passes but bottles it a bit when we are being pressed in our own half.

but who DOESN'T bottle it when we're defending? clearly an issue with how they're coached

he's our best defender IMO and should be vice captain. I just pray BR see's him as that long term and in his head has him as first choice CB

I think Fed is a calculated man, he doesn't use all of his moanings in the first day. Always leaves something for the next one.

Well Lovren had an excellent game on Sunday, Skrtel wasn't too bad either.

So I think they will start again against Bournemouth.

Even though I think Sakho should start every game, he will get his chance again soon enough.

He can't play more than 11 players so some are going to miss out.

Personally I'd have gone with Sakho but I'm intrigued to see how we go with Dejan.
