Off to bed.....up early again to get to Anfield to watch the mighty redmen, excited muchly. Seems a lifetime ago since we played the mancs there.

We'll miss Coutinho but hopefully we have enough in the squad to cover for him, just want us to win and stay looking down on the rest of the Premiership.

      Go Reds !!

       :scarf: :kop5cf8koxp6: :aaliverpoolwz0: :aaliverpool2xt1:

      Enjoy!

      Looking forward to this.
      Then Luis is back.

      I am EXCITED.

Southampton aren't mugs and can play a bit even though their form is disjointed. I'm sure they'll be thinking it's a good time to play us too what with PC being out, along with Johnson and Agger?

      --------------------------------- Mignolet

      ----------Toure          Skertel             Sahko           Enrique

      ----------------Gerrard           Lucas       Henderson

      ------------------Sterling        Studge     Moses

I wouldn't be able to leave Skertel out, they'd be no justification given the way he has performed. That said Toure brings us leadership and experience that has been valuable to the team and has been a beast since his arrival. I don't think he looks the most comfortable at RB but would still have him in there ahead of the out-of-form Wisdom, so that's why I'd shoehorn him into the team.

Last season at St. Mary's we got totally overrun in midfield, with very poor performances from a two man midfield consisting of Allen and Gerrard. Rodgers brought Lucas on later but to no avail. Midfield is key (as in most matches) and I hope we don't drop off them and let them play, I'd have Henderson tucked in alongside Lucas and Gerrard, and Sterling to drop deep when we lose possession and revert to an 442 formation.

3 pts is a must, even against a good Southampton side.

      C'mon lads!   :kop5cf8koxp6:

Think our last defeat in the Premiership was away at Southampton, so this game a potential banana skin, just hope we do not concede any silly goals.

                      Mignolet
      Wisdom    Skrtel     Agger     Enrique

                   Gerrard     Lucas

                          Hendo
      Aspas                                Moses
                         Sturridge

It's Aspas' last chance to prove himself IMO and I think Hendo can do a very good job at no.10.

So looking forward to this game, great to be going in to games on top of the table. Not a feeling we've had enough in recent times and great for the new fans to experience it!

Feel this is bigger than the fixture would suggest though for two reasons:

      1) Momentum, after a disappointing draw if we can return to winning I think it will carry on for the upcoming games. Anything other than a win could have quite an impact on the confidence.

      2) Will show how we can cope without Suarez and Coutinho. Thankfully this will be the only game where we wont have both of them, but to say that is massively crippling to our creativity would be an understatement. It will truly show how we can set up without them and dare I say it, how we might look if both leave any time soon.

      Come on lads!

Must win this game. Then we'll be looking down from the top with a 4 points gap!

I like that feeling. Let them chase after us.

I's like to see Ibe or Alberto given a chance today, even in the starting lineup. With PC out, I think Ibe's youthful energy would be a real asset.

Proceed with caution today Saints are decent and can pass and move not quite the Liverpool groove, none the less we need to safeguard against their counter attack moments, Brendan has a bit of a decision to make at the back today and that will leave someone disappointed, if Agger is back Sakho will drop for sure, but Brendan could opt for Toure as RB and have Skrtel Agger and Enrique alongside,

Lucas sat in front with Gerrard, a midfield of Henderson, Aspas/Alberto, Moses
and the goalden boy leading the front, I can't see Kelly or Wisdom in front if Toure, Skrtel deserves his place, Agger is vice and will play if fit, not sure if Brendan will give the nod to Alberto ahead of Aspas but whatever his decision it's a weak spot, it's possible Gerrard could be pushed forward and have illori next to Lucas.......
                           Mignolet
          Toure.     Skrtel.    Agger.   Jose
                 Gerrard/Ilori.  Lucas
           Henderson.                Moses
                      Gerrard/Alberto
                           Sturridge

Whatever side Brendan puts out should prove to strong for saints, can't anything other than a Reds victory, bagging the 3pts and stay top of the pile of sh*te below us, 3-1 Sturridge to bag another two and Toure with a header from a set play.

Feel confident enough to collect all 3 points & another clean sheet for Mignolet.

Atmosphere should be great today at Anfield.

Aspas' last chance?! Has he even had a first one? There's only been 4 league games and you consider this his last chance? Granted he hasn't set the world alight when he's played in competitive games so far this season but I saw more than enough promise from him in pre-season to come to the conclusion that he will be a decent asset to the team in due course.

I'm thinking a 2-0 win today with Sturridge and possibly Sakho getting the goals if he plays.

Really looking forward to this one, just hope I can get enough peace and quiet to watch it properly.  My sisters coming for the weekend, also got my 3yr old granddaughter plus 3 dogs to contend with

Should be a good game but can't see anything other than a Reds win.

Top of the league going into the manc game on Wednesday, job's a good un  ;D

First game I'm going to miss as I'm working but I do think it's one we can, and will, win.

I think Brendan will go for Aspas instead of Coutinho and will pay Wisdom but I'm not sure it is the best 11 we could send out.

Still should be enough to see off Southampton though.
