I would like to see BR pick a full back regardless of experience, this is the opportunity, any more than 2 center halves on the pitch to begin with and I will have serious doubts.

Not confident about Wisdom marking Young and Evra though and don't know what's going on with Kelly.

It's strange how this cup has suddenly become really important to man u fans after they spent years disparaging it as a "mickey mouse" trophy.

I hope we win, but I'm not really that fussed.

I hope the boss resists the temptation to play Jones, I can't really see the point. If Mig gets injured in a couple of months, will we really be any better off because Jones played in a game at Old Trafford in September? I don't think we will, we'll be in the sh!te whether or not he plays here so lets stick with our number one goalie and give HIM some more experience of playing for us.

I hope at the back we play our current best two centre halves (Toure and Sakho), and I'd go for Andre Wisdom who I continue to rate extremely highly, at right back. At left back I'd go for Enrique, he surely can't play as badly again as he did against Southampton at the weekend.

In midfield we are going to spend much of the game defending, so I'd go with Lucas and Gerrard. Gerrard obviously has to play whatever the circumstances as long as he is able to jog a bit, and here the game ought to suit Lucas despite his limitations. Much of what he is limited in won't be required here, and the stuff he is good at will, so he must play.

I'd actually sit Suarez into a withdrawn 10 role if Sturridge plays, obviously he'll go up top if not. If it is "not" for Sturridge, I'd leave Luis up there on his own and play Henderson, Alberto and Moses across the middle to make a 4-2-3-1. If Sturridge does play (and I think he will), I'd play 4-4-2 with Henderson right, Moses left and Suarez withdrawn into the 10 behind Sturridge.

It'll be a hard game this they'll be bang up for it, but I think if we pick the right team we might get home by the odd goal in three. I think Luis Suarez will be absolutely sensational.

Playing Utd at Old Trafford is a massive game whatever the tournament.  It's about prestige and we have a poor record at OT in the last decade and need to start winning there again.

Utd are mentally fragile after the hammering by City and the doubts about Moyes' ability. We need to go for their throats.

Excited and nervous at the same time for tonight, I was watching them against City on Sunday and as soon as they got the ball City were on them quick as anything, thats what we have to do, don't give them time to settle on the ball, we need to be at them straight away, panic them into giving the ball away.

That's gotta be the most ridiculous line up I've ever seen mate.

Just about as ridiculous as the one Rodgers pulled out of his hat on Saturday!

Obviously, you didn't clue in on the sarcasm!

A bit too early for the drinks eh ;)

That's what I thought when I saw Rodgers' line-up for the Saturday game.

Would love McLaughlin to play some part. I played footy with him in the past and he is a real genuine guy who has done well for himself. He is also a very good player.

Hate games against the mancs as I always get too nervous to enjoy them. I do think they are there for the taking if we can get at them, but it won't be easy.... it never is against those bas**rds.

I would play almost a full strength team as our one big advantage is we don't have European fixtures to worry about.

It might shock some, but bragging rights is not the be all and end all of football for me.

It would be nice to win, but I'm not going to be overly bothered, or crying into my beer if we don't.

I remember when this fixture was looked forward to for reasons other than shouting abuse at another set of fans, or being able to give it billy big bollocks for a few days after.

I don't buy into, or get into the tribalism sh*te: it does more harm than good as far as I'm concerned, but if that's your thing then crack on. I'll sit down with a few mates and a few beers or whatever, watch the match, have a bit of friendly banter and win or lose I'll enjoy myself, and hope that my guests do as well.

winning is everything to night. firstly its a chance to progress in a cup comp. secondly its a chance to sort out the mess from Saturday and thirdly most importantly its a chance to beat Utd and Moyes what more motivation is needed.

Looks good to me, although I suspect Aspas will play as part of a front 3 that rotates positions, and lets face it, he needs a goal if only to get his confidence up a bit.

Forget the media bullshit about Suarez on the wing, it's just more sh*t stirring. The front 3 will rotate as they have since BR got Sturridge.

Quite possibly our best prospect to be fair. Seemingly has it all. Defends well, great turn of pace, good cross and dribbling ability. Not sure why hasn't started to get blooded in, he's our second best RB for me.

Havent voted meself but have no problem with 18 no's. Based on our last few performances its reasonable to think were going to go to old trafford and be as poor again and get beaten. To win we will have to create chances and take maybe 2 of them. We arent creating a lot of chances away from home, or that manty at home actually. So unless we have a lot more energy from midfield and players willing to have a pop other then Sturridge then its quite realistic we will struggle to win tonight.

In saying all that  if we get our fooking finger out and decide to run at the fookers and expose there many weaknesses then we can walk away with a win no doubt about it

Its unlikely that Toure, Agger and Gerard can carry on with 3 games per week so decisions need to be made around the relative importance of this game Vs Sunderland. Sturridge also could do with a rest.

      Mignolet

      Wisdom
      Sakho
      Skrtel
      Enrique

Lucas (would love to rest him but no like for like)
      Henderson
      Alberto

      Aspas
      Sterling
      Suarez

to start. Would love Kelly to start but perhaps not quite ready. Same with Ilori. Obviously Moses preferable to Aspas on recent form but again I would put Sunderland game as higher priority. Aspas may actually form a nice combination with Suarez. Sturridge and Gerard to come on if needed

Seeing as Kelly didn't feature for the U21s he could fill that position.
Sterling played there last time he featured at U21.

Either way I'd just like us to try something that better utilised our CBs
than that awful 4 CB line up against Southampton.

Can't watch this one. F***ing midweek games, jobs, and time zones ;D

I just don't see us playing a weakened side. Sturridge to the bench so he can recover and not aggravate his injury is the only big change I can foresee.

      Mignolet
      Skrtel       Sakho
      Wisdom                       Kelly
      Gerrard    Lucas
      Sterling        Henderson          Moses
      Suarez

I don't think Wisdom is necessarily the best option, but the only real one given doubts I have over Kelly's fitness.
