Which one of Sturridge, Coutinho, Allen and Mignolet has "been a f**king disaster"? Sturridge and Coutinho are obvious quality. Allen was way over-priced but he's a good midfielder when used in his proper role, while Mignolet has bailed us out a number of times and pulled off incredible saves.

Allen's been a disaster. Injured, out of form, dropped. He's been an utter waste of money and we should get rid in summer. We already have a water-carrier in the side in Hendo. We don't need a smaller, slower version.

Mignolet is a great shot-stopper, but that's it. His command of his area is poor, his catching is suspect, his throwing is average and his kicking is just about as bad as it gets. He can't use his feet at all. He's an eye-catching relegation keeper, the type who does make spectacular saves, but can't do much else.

      We can do much better.

      Relegation Keeper....that's a good one.

For all of Pepe's good distribution I don't think the Pepe of 2010-2012 would have blocked half the shots Simon has blocked this season...agile and cat like reflexes were not Pepe's strong suit...as for the distribution he will get better over time.

Whether any one believes Dnipro (where is their agenda ?... they dont have one ) or LFC via Ayres .... it is a simple fact from our end that Ayres and his performance to date carries too much baggage.
      We've been there before.
      We've heard all the bollocks.

i think it is pretty obvious.. well at least to me at least

Ayre thought he would have Salah for this window.  had it all played out in his head... he would jerk them around for over 2 months... lowball... sign Salah in jan and the fans (us) will organize a parade in his honour for being such a shrewd negotiator.... we would pass this heroic story down to our kids who will then pass it down to their children and Ayre would be a hero of Anfield... one of the greats if not the GREAT.

but life is full of surprises.  chelsea looked at salah and thought.. for 11mil only... thats probably what Abrom personally spends each day, they might as well buy salah because at that price there is ZERO chance they would lose money on him and liverpool .. a team that is right behind chelsea in the standings do not fortify this window. (think about the reason for them selling mata now to man utd vs selling to them in the summer or even at all... manutd still plays every other top 6 contender except chelsea)

So our dear ayre now shafted by salah goes OMG who else can i go get... Zono is the other option... but alas, all his eggs were in the Salah basket so although he flew in and spent 3 days with them, there was just not enough time.

however,  since we cant rewind time... we have to make do with what we got and pray our lads are fit and up for it.  I hope Ayre learns from this and gets BR his targets fast and furious

No, he should be demoted to Commercial Director, let him do a job he's quite good at, but have the foresight to bring in a strong and well respected CEO or abandon the idea, no point jumping out the frying pan and in to the fire.

Wrong thread to discuss but I actually agree with you on this.

Then what happens to Billy Hogan who seems to be doing a really good job on the commercial side of things?

Daktion LFC has the best take on this whole transfer fiasco. Ayres got caught short after the Salah fisaco.

It was an intentional mix-up of the two phrases..... poor attempt at humor on my part apparently....

I thought it was funny mate.

Back to the topic at hand...maybe the better question isn't Should Ian Ayre be sacked, maybe the question needing to be asked is "Why hasn't Ian Ayre been sacked already?"

Because Ian Ayre is a catholic who likes to sh*t in the woods, and rumour has it that he's thinking about running for pope next time round but FSG. Can't bear it
