Pre Match: Fulham V Liverpool (12th Feb 2014 - 8:00pm)

You know something is happening when a pre-match thread for a midweek game gets past it's 200th post.

On the question of the game, the 2-2 draw with the Mancs doesn't alter the fact that they are a poor team who don't possess a player who would get a game for us. I'll be watching the barometer players for us at the start to see how up for it we are. For me those are the likes of Sturridge and Coutinho, Henderson as well. When we're closing down are we busting a gut to get there or are we going through the motions? (Suarez will do it anyway obviously). Do we really want to impose ourselves on the game or are we going to (same as at West Brom) just wait for a moment in the game to come when our quality will shine through?

If we are bang up for it we will be a couple of goals to the good fairly readily and will win with something in hand. If we allow them to feel their way into the game and allow their supporters to get their belief up, it will be  a hard battle in poor conditions which could go either way. We still may win if it comes to that, but as we showed against WBA it's a dangerous way to play.

I'm taking us to come out, roared on by the inevitable fantastic away support and take them apart. 4-0.

Was up in the village at Pizza Express with the Mrs earlier mate (What jetset lives we lead!) and on the way back down the hill we got f*cking drenched, and it was freezing. Like you say has cleared up now but still very cold. Will be spending the last half hour before we set off trying to make sure my little lad gets ridiculously wrapped up, I reckon Fulham is one of the coldest grounds in the country when the weather's bad (bit like Anfield come to that).

You're right there mick, next to the Thames so it can get pretty chilly. Quite an open ground too.

It's really really bad weather here in Liverpool, got a feeling it's gonna be the same or worse down south. It'll make this game especially tough I reckon, mightn't be our normal flowing game.
 You never know though, we could be so worked up mentally that we still perform at a level that surprises us all.

Think it's similar weather all around the UK to be honest. Will be difficult for every team in every game tonight to play their best football.

More so than destroying a rival or a top team in prime time, games like tonight is where the league is decided.

The ugly game away from home in poor conditions after a big win is how you separate the contenders from the pretenders in any sport.

We simply need to focus, and stay on task and we will walk out with 3 points.

I bet most of that has been about the weather and the trains.

Don't think this will be any easy game, I feel we are going to be playing against Fulham and the wind tonight.

Last few big win wins we have played on the break, where as tonight that may not be that easy.

Next doors fence has just blew off into me back garden, conditions tonight will be grim. Fulhams ground is made up of wood anyway so expect seats flying in all directions hahaha!

With the weather, I'll take any result. Still think we can do it, it just may not be very pretty.
I just hope all those going to the game take extra care and get home safe and sound.
I hope it's better there than it is here, we've just lost a couple of ridge tiles and a couple of fences have blown out.
