Well good news for the team and manager! More players to call on when games need it, instead of being stuck with either Moses or Cissokho as the only real options for Brendan (scary to think how depleted our squad was).

Would it be because you said something rediculous about Suarez in the Lallana thread?

And what would that be exactly?

Sorry my mistake.  I misread Luiz for Luis. Anyway.  Good luck to USA tomorrow against Belgium.

No worries...you had me worried for a minute though....wouldn't be the first time I'd gone off-road in a thread.

Sources told ESPN FC on Friday afternoon that the 26-year-old was on his way to Merseyside for a medical at the club's Melwood training ground.

Yeah mate, I heard the same but £23m + £5million in addons. Hopefully they have made the addons difficult to achieve if it's true.

A little too much in my opinion (as I have said too many times before) but he's a decent player who I think may do well, which I suppose is the main thing.

Herein lies another issue that folks have complained about that FSG seem to be addressing.....last few windows people moan about us dragging out deals trying to get the best price only to see them hijacked at the end.

Now we are overpaying it seems in order to just get the deal done quickly to ward off any other interest and any bidding war and people aren't happy with that either.

Is he overpriced at 25m? Probably so if you are going by last year's transfer prices, but if you look at this year's prices (if they hold through the summer...Luiz at 50m??) then it really isn't that terrible of a deal if you factor in FSG likely know they are overpaying in order to wrap this deal up sooner than later.

I don't really have an issue with it as long as it doesn't affect our chase of other targets. So far it seems our targets have not changed (Sanchez and Shaquiri) so until the time that they do...oh well.

If we get Sanchez i'll let that John Henry fella have his way with me missus for the weekend .  ;D

      Great news.

I think he is a fantastic player and glad this one seems done and the boss has got which seems his number one target for the summer.

I don't dislike Lallana. I just don't think he's good enough. Hopefully it'll be he and not the more talented Coutinho warming the bench next season.

Or perhaps Brendan knows best. We'll see.

      Now go get Schneiderlin.

      ALL. THE. PLAYERS.

Lallana and Hendo will be a ridiculous midfield.
Two lad running everywhere for 90 minutes.

Gerrard can sit back and have a ciggy.
I am chuffed with this signing. But one thing is pissing me off to no end. Its this misconception. Its on here. Its on RAWK (shudders)

HE IS NOT A CENTRAL MIDFIELDER.  :f_tongueincheek:

He plays in the same positions as Sterling and Coutinho (minus when coutinho actually did play as a CM); out on the wings and as an attacking midfielder. He played a grand total of one game in central midfield.
      He is an attacking option.

Now I've calmed down, I re-read your post and realize you probably didn't actually mean to say he was a midfielder like Henderson, but rather were just focusing on how they both like to run. Or even your definition of the midfield includes players who are part of the front 3. But I'm posting this anyway in case anyone else is mistaken.

lololol, neither will be "warming the bench next season", they'll both get many many minutes. stop trying to be an expert in June and just enjoy the ride!

Good signing - more than I would have liked to have paid but there you go.

I think some people are going to find their player valuations get recalibrated in light of the TV deal.

£28m? A few million too much. Hope he "barely" misses out on those performance milestones.

Made up with the signing. Welcome Adam.

The times I watched him play last season, I was quite impressed. I think he'll fit right in at Liverpool and can see a bright future for him here.

On to our next signing please.

I don't. I hope he exceeds them by a long a way. (Odds are one of them is winning the league - you really want to miss out on that?). Anyway, the better he does, the better value he becomes anyway.
