The LFC Player Awards 2014

The event, which is the first in Liverpool FC history, will provide a rare opportunity for guests to help recognise players, former players, fans and staff who form part of the world's greatest football family.





Some of the award categories for tonight:

-Player of the Year - voted for by fans
-First-team Players' Player of the Year - voted for by the first team
-Liverpool Ladies Players' Player of the Year - voted for by the Liverpool Ladies
-Academy Players' Player of the Year (U18 and U21) - voted for by the Academy
-Young Player of the Year (player aged 21 or under who has shown exciting growth in the last 12 months) - voted for by fans.
-Goal of the Season (a shortlist of 10 great goals scored this season)
-Bill Shankly Award (someone who has upheld the club's values, showing dignity, unity, commitment and ambition)
-Supporters' Club of the Year (a fan club that has shown extraordinary support for their beloved Liverpool) - voted for by the LFC Awards Panel
-Fan of the Year (a fan who goes above and beyond for their club and community, showing great courage to overcome adversity
-Staff Recognition Award (For a member of Liverpool FC staff who is dedicated to Liverpool FC and upholds the Liverpool Way)
-Lifetime Achievement Award (someone who has dedicated their life to Liverpool FC, demonstrating the club values in everything they do)









The Ladies squad are also in attendance, as well as various celebrities who have joined the ceremony.

Rado Chmiel wins this award for a fan who goes above and beyond for their Club and community, showing great courage to overcome adversity.

Steven Gerrard steps forward to present the winner for the first team's 'Player's Player of the Year' for the 2013/14 season, and that of course is

The next award is recognition for someone who has upheld the club's values, showing dignity, unity, commitment and ambition, The Bill Shankly Award which goes to Liverpool's Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva.

Lucas speaks of how privileged he is in being the figurehead for a lot of the club's community projects.

Simon Mignolet and Liverpool coach Colin Pascoe come up to the stage to present a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' to a man who devoted his whole life to the football club.

And the award goes to Ronnie Moran.

Luis Suarez says he is speechless much to the amusement of the crowd. The Uruguayan, who has won three awards tonight, pays tribute to his teammates, his family, the training staff and everyone that works at the football club.

The final award is for 'Outstanding Achievement' for 2014

Ian Ayre comes on stage to pay tribute the one man that has made an outstanding contribution to the football club and brought everyone together

Brendan Rodgers expresses his total surprise at receiving this award tonight. Rodgers pays tribute to all the hard work that the staff put in at the football club and how privileged he is to follow the plethora of great managers the Reds have had over the years. Brendan says he will adhere to Ronnie Moran's words of always striving to improve, during his time at this great football club.
