Might be just a coincidence but I'm not surprised to see somebody like Coutinho right next to him in the picture. He's obviously going to be one of the people to help the lad settle in.

Since we have a few Spanish players I'd expect them to help out too ;D

Yes definitely mate. I posted after the European Super Cup that players such as Coutinho, Sterling (depending on language barrier), Enrique etc. will take him under their wing. A bit like in the Liverpool documentary where it showed scenes of Coates, Suarez and Lucas going round to one another's houses with family and friends. I can't wait to see him get going though!

I take it that's his set number for the season now? Or can it be changed before he's officially announced?
He's gonna be number 18 from what I've heard.

;) Just a few Spanish speakers. Manquillo,Enrique,Suso,Coates,Lucas,Coutinho and Ilori. I think the lad will be fine. Plus Luis Alberto (on loan) is good mates with him too.

Lucas, Coutinho and Ilori all speak Portugese. They may speak spanish as well, but it wouldn't be their first language

Don't mean to be a pedant but, don't Lucas, Coutinho and Ilori speak Portuguese?

Lucas has a decent understanding of Spanish, he was close friends with Suarez and Coates.

Spanish(Spain) and Portuguese(Portugal) are very similar but Brazilian Portuguese is little different. But most Spanish/Portuguese speakers can understand each other. It's like English/Australians/Americans. We can all understand each other most of the time. About 50-75% of the words are the same in both Portuguese and Spanish. Just saying.

Coutinho and Ilori will have picked it up from their time in La Liga. As someone's already said they all conversed with Suarez and all the other Spanish players too in Spanish. In fact I'm sure I read somewhere recently of Lucas urging his team mates to learn Spanish. Isn't Johnson doing a Open University degree on it aswell?

Not forgetting Brendan speaks the lingo too. Wasn't he barking out orders in Spanish to Manquillo in the match v's Dortmund?

That might be applicable when hearing the Queens spoken English not so for broad Scousers, Geordies or Glasweigans though ;D ;D The Aussies might still be able to translate but certainly not the Americans. Didn't they have to input subtitles during Carra's appearances on that LFC documentary the other year?

Doesn't Latin Spanish vary from mainland Spanish too?

Haha, the different "dialects" are challenging to us Americans, but then again, if you came to the states and were to converse with someone from Louisiana or Tennessee it would probably be a similar difficulty. I even need subtitles sometimes listening to Cajuns from Louisiana. :)

They were more than just friends.

      On the pitch

      Off the pitch

Then came along this long haired lady boy judas b***ard

And he never looked back since

But when Judas left, nothing was the same for Stevie again
