Then he shouldn't start. Can has not proved himself loyal to the cause so he may not push himself like others. He is not that good anyway.

Has worked his ass off and been as committed as any player in matches this season. It would be a massive bonus to have him back for the final even if it was just as s 20 minute sub.

The key to us winning is to be able to play the high energy pressing game we’re known for. The success of that strategy may depend entirely on the fitness progress of Can and Lallana as possible subs for the big game.

Except Can has shown plenty of commitment on the pitch all season. Are you saying he's going to start easing off in a European Cup final? Do you think the guy isn't bothered about winning one for himself, never mind for the club?

I think Jürgen might prefer to start the other 3 CM's, given they will be here next season and Can probably won't. Which makes sense. But Can will be dying to play, like any self-respecting player, and there is no way he is going to suddenly start putting his feet up in that match, of all matches.
