Even then I wouldn't put too much store by it.
The only reason a club has for releasing information about a fee is for PR reasons, and we'd be F***ing idiots to let the world and his wife know we've just been given X amount.
It'd be pretty much like bending over and lubing up to be arse raped.

Unless Suarez negotiated the release clause price when he signed his new contract - which seems pretty likely.

Getting worked up about it doesn't really change contractual law so I'd calm down before you have a coronary if I were you.

Oh my heart will be just fine, it's my head that will be done in.

Is he not gone yet ?

Don't want him to go, but if He is, I wish he'd hurry the F**k up.

Should be the easiest transfer about.

World Class player has release clause.

      Buying Club pays it.

      Player Negotiates Wages.

      Player Passes Medical.

      Transfer is signed off.

Wish we were hard nosed in our negotiations. Get them to agree to our price then go back in and tell them to include Tello as well or the deal is off.

It's all speculation, I doubt he'd ever get sold for less than the release clause. People complaining about Ayre - the reason the deal is taking so long is surely because Ayre is standing his ground rather than listening to sub-75 million offers. As I said, it's all speculation so don't jump on Ayre's back before anything official has been announced.

The fact that a toddler in his nappy could defend the argument that the release clause hasn't been met, should have some sort of bearing on the analysis of Ayre's amazing negotiation skills.

I think the release clause is/was/will prove to be 75 million EUROS not pounds. If we get 54 million quid up front we are getting 6/7 of the fee now and 1/7 later. Not the best deal, but as I said yesterday our hands are tied to a large extent.

That's not what "sources close to the club" told the Echo. The deal was rumoured to be 80 million euros which is £63 million but they said that is categorically untrue. The only source for this £63 million is the Spanish press. Our hands are not tied, the player is contracted to us for another four years and we are under no obligation to grant a transfer even if a written request is submitted. So the figure needs to be the buyout and on our terms or they should be getting told to get back on the plane and f**k off back to Spain.

Mascherano was told first hand by Enrique he is needed and signed a contract just before the WC, very unlikely he will be in any swap deals.

Slightest and tiniest glimmer of hope resides in me that if Barca contiue to play up like they have been Henry will tell them to do one and Luis will see their pettiness as an indicator of his worth and value to them and turn around and tell them where to go too. That is the dreamer in me though reality of the situation is a lot different.

Either scenario the silence has been deafening.

Barca doing my opinion of them no favours. Immoral, petty cu*ts.

Sweet Jesus - this is a 75 million pound deal being negotiated not buying a plasma TV from Dixons. By all accounts both clubs seem to be having productive and amicable talks and are discussing the Payment structure - the same as in any similar deal - so, until we hear some concrete news otherwise there's no point getting upset about how Barca are handling things.

In addition, the bulk of the deal has likely been agreed already and Barca are holding off the announcement so that we can bid for our targets at other clubs without getting fleeced - taking a tip from the way the Bale transfer was done.

And how so many seem to know exactly how far our hands are tied without knowing any details of Suarez's contract or even an accurate figure for his buyout clause is completely beyond me.

His release fee was negotiated last season by Suarez and his lawyer at the time of signing his new bumper contract - obviously he would have arrived at the figure after taking soundings from interested clubs and there's relatively little we could do about that - in the end we will have got far more than our money's-worth and made a staggering profit on him.

I sometimes think people lose all touch with reality through sheer greed.

I must admit it does also appear to me to be a very amicable deal that has been conducted in the right way, I'm glad it's taking a bit of time to get down because it does allow the club to move on other transfer targets before the fee for Luis is announced. From what I have read very few transfers are simply paid up front so it isn't a great surprise to see that the payment structure is what is holding things up (that and the Sanchez transfer) I'd also like to think that we will have developed a decent relationship with Barca for the next time we have an interest in one of their players.

The Uruguayan appeal has been rejected, surprised by that. I'd imagine a new appeal by Barcelona will surface not long after he signed.

I had read somewhere that we couldn't appeal. So if we couldn't, how could Barca?
