Just turned 20 in March FL so about the same age as Cou when he arrived.

20? Holy crap. I like this signing even more. This kid's got a lot in his tool kit for that age. Hope he can bed in quickly and make the jump to Premier League level play.

He'll make an impact but probably won't be consistent for a couple of years yet.  Like all young players it's the consistency that separates the good from the greats  ;)

Was he part-owned, Tommy? Or is it €12.5M up front with the other half payed up over time + bonuses etc? Slightly confused here.

We have mucked up those complicated third-party ownership deals in the past, good to see this one put to bed as he seems to be a terrific talent.

LFC now got one of the biggest talents on the planet. I'll be very surprised if Markovic doesn't dominate European football in the future.

Benfica did not explain who owned the other 50% when he arrived. Portugal media said a Fund helped Benfica to buying him. Liverpool paid 10M£ to Benfica and another 10M£ to the that Fund, I suppose.

According to SSN we're still waiting to receive signed paper work from Benfica before we're allowed to legally announce the signing.

      Anyone understand what this means?

As we told you earlier, Liverpool are on the verge of completing the signing of Serbian forward Lazar Markovic from Portuguese champions Benfica. Sky Sports understands the deal is in the region of £20million although Benfica have said they have reached a 12.5m euros agreement with Liverpool for the sporting rights and 50 per cent of the economic rights for the player.
