Liverpool have reportedly enquired about signing Real Madrid midfielder Isco this summer – despite the player insisting that he does not want to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
The 22-year-old’s place at Los Blancos next term is under threat after Real signed Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee this week.
With the club trying to find the funds to also lure James Rodriguez from Monaco, Spanish publication AS has reported that Isco could be sold this summer to make way for the Colombia international – with Liverpool leading the race for the Spain international’s signature.
Sevilla and Italian giants AC Milan are also believed to be interested in the midfielder, but, the player himself is unwilling to leave Real with Isco contracted to the capital club until 2018.
Rumours had spread earlier this week that said Sevilla had agreed a season-long loan for Isco, but, the 22-year-old denied the stories on social media.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘Obviously all lies.’
Isco scored 11 goals for Real last term after signing from Malaga in the summer of 2013.
http://metro.co.uk/2014/07/20/liverpool-make-enquiry-for-real-madrids-isco-4804331/Liverpool have made a loan bid for Real Madrid playmaker Isco, after reports emerged of their interest in the midfield orchestrator on the weekend.
According to Pete O’Rourke, reporter for Sky Sports, there have been reports in Spain that Liverpool have made a loan offer for the former Malaga man.
The Spanish attacker joined the Los Blancos last summer from Malaga and he got off to a flying start to life at the European champions. However, Isco struggled to continue his early season form and he was dropped by Carlo Ancelotti as the Italian favoured Luka Modric, Sami Khedira and Xabi Alonso ahead of the youngster.
The 22-year-old is seen as one of the most promising players in his position in Europe and despite his time on the bench at Real Madrid, he is still highly-rated at the club.
Isco would command a huge fee for his services permanently, which is why Brendan Rodgers has made his reported loan move for the talent.
