Agree, said I hadn't seen him play much for Southampton but seen enough of him now for us to know I'd prefer either Sakho or Agger there.

I am not convinced at all by Lovren.

Exactly, didn't see other clubs after him, mediocre at best, Agger is way better and we let him go. Piss poor management.

to be fair you could say that for most of the team he is not on his own in under performing

He isn't as bad as people think he is. He is a good defender playing with some really awful defenders around him, any good defender would look awful in a defense like ours.

The days we had Pepe Reina, Hyypia and Carragher... now we are settling for Mignolet, Johnson and Skrtel

When you put it like that it's exceptionally hard to disagree.  £20M.  In fact looking at Toure against Swansea I'm starting to consider just where in the pecking order all of our centre-backs fit in.

Our best one is injured and likely to be out of favour when he is fit following his walk out the other week.

This lad has been awful.  His reading of the game just seems so bad he always gets sucked out of position.  Needs to be dropped even for kolo

The only thing I knew about this lad before the summer was that he scored the winner at Anfield last season.

I've watched him closely this season and after 15 games or so, I still don't know what his strengths are? From what I read and heard he was a leader of men, a no nonsense uncompromising centre back who could also play a bit.

Early days I know but I've seen nothing to suggest he has any of these qualities so far and worryingly, his positional play appears awful and he doesn't seem to have the pace to get himself out of a bad position.

I'm not a huge fan of Sakho but at the moment, if fit he would be ahead of Dejan for me.

Defenders especially Centre Backs usually take more time to settle, so at the moment I am not too worried about Lovren. I think he has shown enough in various games to suggest he may be a decent player once he forms a partnership with (? ).

Yet another dismal performance from this expensive defender. I'd put Djimi Traore ahead of him any day.

What was it Gary Neville called David Luiz? "A PlayStation footballer"? Pretty much describes Lovren right now (without the ability to score that Luiz has). Defends like a person playing FIFA.
