On topic: in the limited times I've seen Lovren play I have witnessed nothing to suggest he's better than what we have.

So far nothing has changed to alter that opinion. I hope it does tho' because, if he (and others like him) continue in the same vein, the downward spiral will go unabated and no Reds fan wants that.

Get rid of him. Even if he had talent, he's apparently causing problems with SG - Dejan cannot defend - which he was brought in to do. What a waste of £20m and we got rid of Daniel for him...WHY?!

I know SG isn't the player he was, but I'd always back him just for all the amazing times I've seen him provide.

Yep we were warned. I remember some Saint fan joined on and posted something along the lines of we will find out how dodgy he is and the time we gave said poster a lot of stick about it. Can't seem to find the post now.

Shows he wasn't talking crap and that Lovren isn't as good as we hoped would be. Has plenty of flaws to his game and to think he or even Henderson have been earmarked to lead this Club in the future, makes me feel ill.

I remain 100% convinced that Lovren will prove to be an excellent player for us. S'all about opinions at the end of the day. His play in between the howlers is top drawer (all IMHO of course).

I wish I had that faith. I share many of your views about our new signings but this one really eludes me. I look at Lovren and see only a walking disaster, an accident waiting to happen. Hopefully you're spot on.

That is VERY good analysis by Carra and later by Neville. I never noticed before what massive gaps we have in our backline because we don't defend as a unit. Individual defending.

I just feel he needs someone experienced and commanding like Hummels next to him, but then again, I think Sahko needs that too. Have we seen a Toure & Lovren/Sakho pairing before?

Anyway, as for summer, we should sell Lovren or Sakho, what's the point in having 2 x 20m when you can only play 1? Or do people think a Lovren and Sakho partnership is possible?

Nope, he needs a manager/coach who understands how to defend.

Well the only game Lovren and Sakho played together we beat Spurs 3 nil. So on that basis yes I do think a Lovren and Sakho partnership is possible.

How many more players are we going to buy that need somebody experienced and commanding next to them in order to get the best out of them? We used have leaders literally all over the pitch, now we've got one and that's Gerrard.

Why should we sell them just because they cost us 20m and 18m? That's a silly suggestion. Based on that we should buy every player for a completely different price.

Ideally, the way I see it,  I think it'd be better to have 2 starters, 1 vet/experienced CB and 1 youngster as backups. If Lovren and Sakho can work together, then perfect, if not, I would prefer to sell one or the other and use the money else where for a right sided center back or whatever.

That was the reason we bought in Lovren. He was supposed to be that very man.

I keep saying it's the system, Lucas plays and we see an improvement in our defence he gets dropped and it's the usual comedy stuff.

But more importantly than that Rodgers has not figured how to transition his midfield from being able to attack and defend at the same time.
United's 3rd goal on Sunday being a prime example.

Just play Sakho with either Toure or Lovren and their will be an improvement straight away because Skrtel inspires no confidence in any of his partners.
