Mignolet
Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Moreno
Gerrard
Hendo Allen
Sterling Sturridge Coutinho
Only three changes from last season. Personally I feel it's the team cohesion in what we are lacking. I like the balance of this team. I feel each individual offers something completely different. Sterling, Coutinho and Sturridge (given he's fit for Everton) would all provide a nice attacking balance to the team. Coutinho's link up play with Sturridge is 2nd the none. Sturridge is our only forward who makes runs off the last defender. He is different to Raheem Sterling, who himself prefers to run at players. They both do, but the point I'm making is that they are different players, and Coutinho would link up well with them in this system.
I actually do not mind Joe Allen. He has his good games too, for which he rarely gets credit for. I think it's obvious why I chose his XI. It's not too dissimilar to last seasons XI, which proved to be a winning formula. Why break that?
Many people will disagree but I think at present, Markovic, Lallana and Balotelli are disruptive to our system. That could change, but neither play in accordance to our 13/14 style and this could be having an effect.
Mignolet, Flanagan, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge, Suarez - epic!
