Yeah he was a good player for us, but I am more annoyed with how we went about replacing him than miss him

Keegan- Dalglish comes to mind but then again we had first class owners and  the best manager in the world.People who put the club first.

With you on that - although as a general rule I don't quibble on fees I also just feel a) we got bent over by Barca & b) either it was a surprise(?!) in which case we should've held out for more or it wasn't in which case there's zero excuse for signing Mario in a panic.

Still think there's a lot of smoke and mirrors around this one.

      Definitely

In terms of the fee for me it was written in to his deal he signed last year, rock solid no way we could refuse set price.. Hence why he signed it.

The club fu**ed up, even if they didn't think 100% he was off (I did) then they should have at least planned for the possibility and not have been scrambling around for a replacement with as much prowess as a virgin in a whore house..

How they didn't look at last season and see the impact that one of the world class talents in the game can do for a squad and think we need that impact again, if we can't get the 4th best player in the world go for the 5th.. Not F***ing try to be clever and bring in the 200th and turn him into the 5th again, we do t have time to constantly start again.

Look at this league we are in, probably the most competitive to get a CL place in Europe.. City and Chelsea have two spots blocked off, Utd have shown this summer that they can compete with those twos spending and attracting the top talents (who make the difference like Luis did for us) Arsenal are Arsenal and have started adding those types in the last couple of windows.. Yet we think we can be clever and do it with the next rung (or two) level of players

Tell you what they deserve what they have got

The shame is we don't as fans

I personally think the bite at the World Cup had a huge part in the club selling Luis. It was the third time his lack of discipline damaged the club by way of suspension. 4 months without your best player is a long time. The part that sucks so much more is that Sturridge has been injured longer than Suarez was suspended. Double blow.

And when Luis signed his new contract he essentially did the same

      No doubt about it.
Surely we know after the Arsenal warning that we needed a plan for life after Luis.
We effectively ran away from the issue instead of dealing with it.
      "Investing in the squad" instead.

In hindsight this was a massive error.

He never struck me as a nasty human, there are bigger pricks than him around, he just struck me as someone with a short fuse who in the heat of the moment does things he will regret after

Hey don't we all to one level or another?

Always struck me as a lovely lad, the way he was with his family and how popular he was.. No nasty human there

It is obvious a player of Luis's talent will be missed by the side and fans, but now he has "moved on". Perhaps it is about time to move forward and declare "topic locked".

with the amount of chances we create. A decent finisher with brains and a bit of pace will score a lot of goals.

Missing the best player in LFC's premier league history the season after he leaves makes you homosexual. Okay then. F***ing genius observation that.
