after tonight's poor showing there is now huge pressure on the team to perform well and win the match.
CR did u have to put that picture in the opening post?
3 5 2 for me. Sterling rested before we kill the kid Mignolet Skrtel Gerrard LovernHendo Lucas Lallana Suso Moreno Lambert SturridgeGet them 2 wing backs to the endline and get crosses in that box have Lallana getting in there to support the front 2. You may laugh at Stevie being there but I bet if he did we'd have a clean sheet. And he'd create a sh*tload of heaaches for WBA with long balls out of the back falling at the feet of Sturridge who must play to give us that movement we lack
We can't defend so why bother playing 4 of them?
Berahino will surely score against this defence
I have to say I'm not looking forward to this at all. They looked quite handy at the weekend and we are utter dog sh*t at the minute.Big game.
I would play: Mignolet Toure Skrtel LovrenSterling Moreno Gerrard Henderson Lallana Borini Balotelli
Toure? Tell me your not serious. Mr Panic stations in a already fragile defence.Recipe for a disaster.
Hope we actually turn up for this. Go out and f**king attack them, we still can't defend so we need to go back to last year's plan and just look for the goals to win 2-1, 3-2 etc.Would be tempted to give Balotelli a rest but I'd still rather have him over Lambert so I'd go with this (in the diamond formation)Mignolet; Manquillo, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno; Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho; Balotelli, Sterling.Hopefully Suso on that bench and a little run out for Sturridge in the last 20.
I'd like us to break from the 4231 for this. Don't think the 1 up front has suited us this season or really suited us last season, I can't remember which games it was that we played the 1 up top for but we never looked as much a threat.I would be tempted to try: Mig Manquillo Skrtel Lovren Moreno Henderson Lallana Coutinho Sterling Borini BalotelliNot for a moment do I think this will actually get a look in, but would love to see something different, something that suggests we see the problem and are looking for a solution. My idea with this team is that it gets much more energy on the pitch for us, whacks Sterling back in a position that has suited him and gets runners in and around Balotelli to play more to his strengths. The movement would be so much better but we would surrender a lot of space for them to exploit in the wide areas. The weakness would probably be Coutinho as watching him against Basel I didn't think he had the desire to track back diligently and that was a disappointment but we need a change as sometimes it appears we're stifling ourselves more than the opponents are.
I don't get why anyone would put Borini above Lambert just compare the stats. Its quite sad that we do in fact need Lambert right now.Somethink seems wrong at present and I cant put my finger on it but with Sakho then Balotelli clearly challenging Brendan all is not well at melwood
MignoletSkrtel Lovren SakhoManquillo Henderson Lucas MorenoSterling LallanaLambertAnyone?
Sahko is hurt is he not?
Basel still hurts. MigsMoreno Lovren Sahko Manquillo SG HendoLallana Coutinho Suso MarioSterling looked tired in body and mind the other night, would have him as impact sub.Skyrtel needs time to mull over the concept of playing the ball, not the manI WANT to drop Mario for the match, but unfortunately think Borini is less of a goal threat (that says something), and Lambert looks like a guy pulled in off the street, his form in on the floor. So reluctantly after Wed, would start Mario again (assuming Studge won't play)Markovic is a passenger, surely Suso deserves a chance.Just go out there and show some passion ffs.
Suso out for 2 months.
Anyone else reckon this is an abnormal amount of injuries, by that I mean; is this a problem of the training at the club or just pure random bad luck? This is a crazy amount of injuries now.Players that are coming back from being injured too.Seems to be more to it than just "one of those things" it's a constant issue.player comes in.. lasts a few weeks, picks up a niggle when he's getting into his stride, another player comes in etc. What kind of fitness regime are these lads doing that leads to so many muscle injuries..
Allen, Can and Sturridge got injured on International duty, not really the clubs fault.
They looked quite handy at the weekend and we are utter dog sh*t at the minute.
You can be almost guaranteed it will be something like this, with some interchanging between the 3 behind Mario.Subs: Jones, Toure, Enrique, Lucas, Markovic, Borini, LambertThat's every fit player in the first team squad.
Why on earth are people advocating that we stick Balotelli up front on his own,
I would like the manager to try something fresh, as nothing is working now and the last heat map for Balotelli in the last game is worrying.Switch to the 4-4-2 Diamond with following players for one Half and see how it goes:the AM position is the most important which should force the strikers to be near or inside the box.
Whatever XI steps out onto that field tomorrow has to win, home game against WBA when in this position is inexcusable to drop any points.I honestly don't care how we get the 3 points, we simply cannot afford to fall any further behind.
'Guardian' reporting that Lambert is starting and Baloteli is dropped. It would be funny because we had the quickest strike force last season, and probably the slowest if Lambert is starting.
What's funnier is how when we signed him (even before Suarez took off), those of us who had our doubts about bringing him here were taken to task by others who said "oh come on, Lambert is not ever going to be starting for us in anything important," etc etc. And yet. Here we are. Suarez is gone; Sturridge is injured; Balotelli isn't doing well; Borini is rubbish; and now we're left possibly starting Lambert in what is pretty much a must-win.I mean.... just ponder that. Rickie Lambert could be starting for us in a league match.Last season we had.... Luis Suarez. Oh but don't worry---we didn't need to replace Luis anyway. Instead of getting someone world-class who could step right in and do a job, we decided to, um, chop up Suarez's talent and add it to other players instead. Yea that's a great idea. Makes a lot of sense. Here Henderson, have some Suarez dust; here Coutinho, have some Suarez dust too; Suarez dust all around! Here's the plan everyone: I want every one of you to just get better. And if each of you gets a little better then altogether you will equal one (1) Luis Suarez.no. There's definitely nothing wrong. Not at all. Everything's just fine and dandy.
All for Rickie starting. I think he is more mobile than Mario. Our play thrives on a mobile strike force and not some rock upfront. If Mario isn't on the bench, I bet that he wouldn't even attend the match.
Liverpool XI: Mignolet, Manquillo, Moreno, Lovren, Skrtel, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Sterling, Lambert.Substitutes: Jones, Toure, Johnson, Lucas, Markovic, Borini, Balotelli.
A fully laden skip is more mobile at the moment Lambert does nothing to warrant a place in our starting xv he was bought as a bit part player and nothing he has done suggests otherwise .
