Liverpool 2-1 Swansea City: In game and Post Match debate

Vital win for confidence ahead of the Newcastle game. I thought we were unlucky to be a goal down in the first place.

It's up front we're struggling so hopefully Balotelli and Borini will gain some confidence from tonight. We need them to start scoring regularly.

Ha ha. Dejan Lovren and Balotelli.  You couldn't make that sh*t up.

Well pleased with the win.

Had the feeling it was going to go to extra time, but a big relief when that second one went in!

It might "only" be the League Cup, and "only" Swansea, but it's amazing what a boost a come back and win can be, felt really good.

Pleased for all the lads and especially Brendan he can have a decent sleep tonight.
Typical LFC cup game really keep us guessing until the last minute.Still in the hat for the next round that's all that matters

Borini was excellent tonight, his energy and overall play is what we've been missing.  Just shows what can happen when players have a point to prove.  Coutinho was also very good just not quite getting those final balls right but I think that's more to do with the lack of movement or the wrong movement in front of him.

Couthinho had a fine game , Rodgers needs to keep starting him and Borini played a good game as well . All in all we did alright but there's still a long road ahead of us to get it right .

Salient parts of the game for me

Thought Coutinho's final ball was dreadful; for all his vision and creativity and his ability to 'see' a pass, his actual end product is very poor of late. Needs to work on his forward passes because everyone of them is over hit of late.

Lovren to blame for their goal? Had a poor stream but looks like he was just watching the Swans striker and never closed him down

Markovic is quite simply not a football player; utterly useless

Borini was great first half but faded second half

Lambert never got started

Henderson was industrious but overall poor

Thought Lucas had a solid game

Balotelli did nothing new for me other than score; his style of play still infuriates me

All in all a great result with a very promising first 40 minutes. Second half was very poor. Still, with two up front we seemed to have a lot more options going forward.

Made up for Balo, Borini and Lovren all needed a boost to their confidence.
Mostly made up for LFC, we do it the hard way, but at least we do it.
I really hope we give Balo and Borini a chance next time. The Italian Job!!

As poor as Jones is, was nice to have a keeper that came for stuff and put his foot through the ball as opposed to Lobbing to the wings.

Brilliant! Put a smile on my face seeing Mario with a goal! Despite it all I do have a wish for him in particular to do well!

Stream froze and Mario levelled, then had to drop the kids to school, 5 minutes round trip and came home to read Lovren won it for us.

What the F**k was wrong with Shelvey he seemed really upset that Balotelli fu**ed up their after game piss up.

I thought Manquillo had a right good game and handled his mark well .

You must feel sorry for their keeper for not handling the cross. Reminds me of someone we all know who didn't play tonight. I have been well trained to feel sorry for defensive/goalkeeping errors I must say...

Not the best performance ever but I think over 90 mins the best team won.
No way was that a Red but it didn't make any difference with the equaliser.
BTW what was Mignolet doing in goal for Swansea........!

Let's hope his head explodes then, he was awful.  If I hadn't been watching the game I'd be wondering what he was actually commentating on, cos it sure didn't sound like football.
