If Brendan hasn't learnt anything from the start of this season, and persists in playing 1 up front, I'm beginning  think he's not the manager for us.
We were better with marcovich on, no recognised striker, yet player desire,  pushed us on.
We lost the game in the first half thanks to Brendan's negativity in a game we needed to win !

Don't generally agree with you but do so on this occassion, having said that I don't think the manager's at fault for the players lack of commitment!

We need a tough and burly manager to give the whole lot a good wallaping. Or that they were asked to play the way they did in the first half by BR and they decided in the last 20 mins, feck you, we'll play our brand of football and you can continue with your analysing of the game with your world class coaches.

Played 6, won 1 at home, against the poorest team in the group, and that was not easy.

We have been very poor in all of the games.

Rodgers has basically thrown his entire philosophy of attack minded football in the garbage this season. I know Sturridge is injured but that does not mean we have to play such negative football. I think he is out of his depth.

BR has to take a fair chunk of responsibility on this one. Too conservative from the start, very negative - ended up with no urgency on a big CL night. And SG further forward didn't work, SG was poor until he scored and then he was a new man. Allen poor too. Didn't get the substitutions - bringing off only striker - for Markovic!?!? And a fullback swap?!? Didn't see the logic. And at that point we looked a shambles - 1 down, in the CL, no striker, at home - unreal !! We looked better after the Markovic sending off - and doesn't matter how much contact there was, what was the F***ing tw*t thinking.

Great finish Thought we might do it, we had them rattled. All the more pity we didn't get at them from the start. Brilliant free kick from the captain

All in all, a complete mess. Amazing that we almost made it through.

We have more than enough numbers, but sadly it's quality in numbers we're lacking.

A lot was said about needing to get in plenty of players for the punishing schedule with the additional CL matches - six matches.

Been saying it for years, we need to concentrate on a handful of quality players each year, the squad will fill out little by little, without buying dregs that are a waste of space and wages.

Absolutely spot on, but I don't understand why? Still believe we have the players to play quick attacking football as well as a pressing game, but why has he thrown it all away this season? :S

Suarez and Sturridge pretty much got us CL football this season. And neither actually played a single mini-second of it.

Markovic was very good too, hope he is played as the 'false 9' (face it - Lambert and Balotelli are useless) - and it says it all about the rest when he is clear second in the MOTM poll but only played 15 minutes!
