I watched this match live on my laptop when I spent that summer in a tiny, remote village in the far north west Highlands of Scotland (about a half hours drive from the village of Durness, made famous by John Lennon, and two to three hours drive from the nearest town which was one of Thurso or Inverness).
It's probably in one of my top 5 Liverpool moments of the past few years. It was the best example of the way the spirit and passion of this club can take heart all the way over on the other side of the world. It's occurrance one of the greatest sporting cathedrals in history made it only more special.
The paradox of me being in the most remote and inaccessible part of the British mainland and viewing it on a dodgy laptop, viewing that spectacle thousands and thousands of miles away in one of the most famous and great cities and stadiums of this world was a paradox eroded. So powerful it was, that every Liverpool fan in every little corner of this earth felt connected.
I watch that video to remind myself that this is what being a Liverpool supporter is all about. We could lose every game and not win a trophy ever again...but as long as we have that spirit we will always be the fortunate ones!
