Aston Villa 0-2 Liverpool: In game and Post Match Debates
      Jan 17, 2015 02:00:18 pm

Starting XI: Mignolet, Can, Skrtel, Sakho, Markovic, Moreno, Lucas, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho, Borini
Subs: Ward, Enrique, Lambert, Manquillo, Lallana, Ibe, Williams

Brendan Rodgers makes one change to his Liverpool line-up for today's clash with Aston Villa – Raheem Sterling returns to the team in place of Steven Gerrard.

The captain is unavailable for inclusion in the squad due to the hamstring issue that forced his half-time withdrawal at Sunderland a week ago.

Sterling therefore makes an immediate comeback to the XI following his brief break from duty, in the only alteration from the side that started the victory at the Stadium of Light.

Meanwhile, Jordon Ibe is named among the substitutes for the Barclays Premier League encounter at Villa Park, having been recalled from his loan spell with Derby County on Thursday.

Good to see Lallana back in the squad so quickly, about time we had an injury or two heal early.

Hope Borini takes his chance today, surely even he knows he's starting to run out of them with Sturridge nearly back.

      Can't fault the line up.

Nice to see Ibe and Williams on the bench too!

We may change the formation if any of the CB's get any injury.

Apparently their fans are planning a protest against the owners. A nice early goal by us to get the protest started ought to be the aim. I take us to get home with a little in hand here, 3-1.

Noticed we have high squad numbers today. Between 1-11, we have only 3, 9 and 10. Of which only 10 starts.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing a cameo from Ibe.  Can't argue too much with the team.  Obviously weak at both ends but plenty of decent players inside the sandwich.

I think this should be a really good game.  It'd be nice to see Fabio score; he must be looking over his shoulder by now with Danny on his way back.  I'm looking forward to seeing how Can and Markovic shape up.  I've got a feeling we've got two cracking young players there.  They look hungry for success and thats the way we want them.  If I were them i'd want to achieve more than those great teams of the past; i'd want my own success and my own greatness.  Ambition must drive them.
