Raheem striking for Liverpool is hogwash. He's not been able to contribute enough goals as a winger, how much more a striker.

We lack the cutting edge we so need.

Lucas's has more guts to shoot that our attackers.

MOTM Lallana or Markovich or Sakho.

      Positives:

      1)  We are still in the FA Cup.
      2)  Clean sheet.
      3)  Bumper pay day for the return match.
      4)  Shows we need another forward.
      5)  Our away form will do these.

We had a lot of shots, but how many were decent? Like 3, maybe 4. I thought overall we were just disjointed and off. A bit sluggish at times as well. We definitely could have done without a replay.

      Meh. Very meh today.

This one just highlights once again how much we need a proven striker in the squad to play whenever Studge isn't available. It really is complete bonkers that nothing is apparently going to happen on this front and if it doesn't I think it will be the difference between a successful season and failure.

On the plus side, a crazy day of cup football, city lose, chavs lose, spuds lose. We're still in the pot and the lads seem to have finally figured out how to defend which means we live to fight another day. Could be a lot worse.

70% possession, 24 shots, 9 on target. Buy a bloody striker for fooks sake. It's pretty obvious to anyone with half a football brain.

I don't think we'd have scored even if the ref had sent the lad off which is a tad depressing

Coutinho has been annoying so far. All these his showboating passes are irksome really.
Got to agree their his through balls when they come off are good but far to wasteful today starting to get impetulant as well . The front three awful .

Given we spent the majority of the second half playing against two banks of four around their box and their keeper kept them in it I'm not overly arsed about the result.  We could've won it easily if their keeper hadn't had such a good performance so I think using that game as an excuse to sign a striker is a bit weak, as soon as Studge gets back we'll be golden.

Unfortunately we don't have many goals in our midfield so without a genuine number 9 to bang in 15-20 we're always going to have games like this. Lallana, Henderson and Coutinho all need to do better in the absence of a new striker coming in.

Has Kevin Friend ever given us anything? Kunt

A decent striker and one of those chances would have hit the back of the net.

You make it sound like knee jerk dude, anyone can see we need another striker, long before this game came around, it's all everyone has been banging on about. We could well be golden once Studge is back but he is made of glass and were still in four competitions which means relying on players like Borini (who isn't rated highly enough to start) and Lambert (who barely merits a sub appearance In Brendan's eyes). If the manager doesn't have confidence in his striking options (and it's clear that he doesn't) then the board should back him to go and find another player.

I think 4 or 5 of them would have, that was the only difference today or we'd have battered them.

Woke up at 4:30 in the morning to watch that sh*t.

F***ing huffing, puffing and not even coming close to blowing the house down.

      Disappointed and frustrated.

We contained them mate, I felt confident watching them knock it round the park; maybe whoever it concerns is happy watching the safe ball, I don't know.
What I do know is you win F**k all without a winning attitude or the means to make that state of mind possible.

Bogdan had a great game in nets for Bolton. Would have been a different game if the penalty and red card was given.

Nah, I wasn't saying that mate. I was saying that using this game to argue for a striker is wrong. Yes we need a striker, that's a given, at least one but given the fact our strikes were virtually comparable to the match against the chavs then it's obvious that the only reason we didn't score today was because (like the chavs were) they were defensively solid and were happy to play for the away match.

To compete we need four quality strikers but even if we'd have had two extra quality strikers or Studge back today I still doubt if we'd have broken through the wall they put up.

      IMHO of course. ;)

Man we bossed that game. Their goalie had an unbelievable game and we probably should have been playing a man up after the challenge on Marko.

I wanted Lucas's last shot to go in so bad, would have been great but oh well.

Thought we played pretty well. Lallana didn't have a very good game, he looked frustrated with the rough and tumble style of the game.

Thought Sterling should have had 3 or 4 goals. He seems to go brain dead when he gets the balls in scoring positions.

Thought Marko and Coutinho were the most impressive offensive players.

Defense fairly solid so that's a plus.
