      Markovich is  lacking in  confidence

      Or just lacking...maybe?

Doesn't matter what his name is, if he's good in the air then he's a threat. Matt Smith for Oldham a few years ago is another example. Our current back 3 don't seem to be able to jump high enough to deal with him.

We struggle with any big striker that isn't afraid to challenge in the air. It's been an ongoing problem for a few years now.

Disagree, think his technical ability makes him a great fit for this side. Its the lack of pace which stops him being world class

Makes him a large distance off world class though.

It depends where you set your standards then, if you're happy for the standard Lallana offers then that's your standard, I would prefer actually having a world class player in there rather than settling for what we have. Which to be fair, is a large distance off world class.

Very impressed with Sterling's work rate in the first half...he seems to be EVERYWHERE on the left side of the pitch...

but cou isnt pacey either, neither was suarez. i think lallanna will fit well into the team regardless of lack of pace.

Both of them have a burst of pace that is deceptive, that's how they leave players in their wake. Over a long distance they'd both leave Lallana miles behind too. In a short distance they'd leave him chasing shadows too. There's a difference between pace not being your main asset and having "enough" to make do. I don't think he does.

Disagree, but I can't be arsed to argue, because the problem with match threads is that whilst we are winning all our players are world class and when they are not everyone is sh*te. There's no middle ground and no space for reason. As it stands Lallana is one of our better players.

We need to be more patient in the build-up. Enough of silly Balotelli-esque long shots or those silly crosses that are so easy to deal with.

I'd switch Lallana and Sterling at half just to give it a different feel in the final third.

Lallana is a long way from "one of our better players", I'd happily see him replaced in the summer. Winning or losing.

We're not talking distance covered, we're talking pace.
