The report actual comes from the express according to the article. We have supposedly submitted a £14.4 million bid but Juve are holding out for £25 million. Be a great addition but I honestly don't see this one happening

£14 for Vidal and £25m for Lallana please Liverpool try another joke, he won't be going less than £30m plus the likes of Madrid and Manchester will be after him no chance also  why would he leave Juve when he is challenging for trophies and constant CL play to play for us ?

Ayre: We'd like to sign Vidal and offer £14.4M

Juve: We are interested in selling but it will take £14.5M

Ayre: No thanks. We've been tracking Wanyama as well and Saints are great to deal with.

To be fair Wanyama isn't bad he has what it takes to play for a top 4 team any day. I remember when he was playing for Celtic I wanted him here.

Oh holy F**k... this can't be true... please tell me its not F***ing true...

Not that we're linked or have made a bid. Just please tell me that, [if we are and if we have], we haven't went in at £14.4m.   ;D  :'(

Listen: I know John W and the boys know the price of everything and the value of nothing and... I know my arse knows more about snipe shooting than they know about football and... I know that they like to pretend they "tried" (because there's still a small pocket of mugs who buy that sh*t) and... I know they don't mind holding the club up for ridicule but... A bid like this would mean a redefining of the term "low-ball".

In fact - it would elevate DUMBFUCKERY to new heights: heights no one could ever have thought possible.  :o

What kind of report is that?

They say a deal is CLOSE, but we've supposedly offered £10m LESS than Juve's valuation.

And the quotes are about the player saying he LOVES Turin and could stay there for the rest of his life.

And yeah, if we have really offered £14.4m, then we're not doing anything other than pissing off other clubs with unrealistic bids.

This is a player who's about to play in a UEFA Champions League final after winning 3 or 4 Italian titles on the trot and is supposedly very, very happy at a club where he is a regular starter and one of the main players.

I don't even see Juve selling for £25m as the Express states, nevermind £14.4m

Yes but we will be able to peddle the story that we are bidding for these top players

Let's put this in the "unlikely" folder.

      Don't have that folder

It's gonna have to go in the 'not a chance while we have a hole in our arse' folder

Mind you that's getting fairly full

I like him a lot, he can also play box-box midfield role, but I think he would cost 30m-35m, where as Schneiderlin, Illarramendi or even, Camacho would probably cost less in fees and wages and could possibly do just as good, if not a better job than Vidal for our team.

I find it somewhat offensive that papers continue to post such rumours when FSG continue to be hell bent on not getting these type of players.

Oh and the fact that he, like 90% of top top players in Europe would tell us to F**k off. Such is our squad's mediocrity at the moment (yes it's young and needs growth for players like Markovic, Can) that we'd have to sign 3 of these players in one summer just to prove our ambition to these new "marquee" players, the current players and most importantly, THE SUPPORTERS!

The one player I'd move heaven and earth to get, alas I'm at a loss to see why he would leave potentially this years European champions for a team who won't even start that competition next year.

Sadly this won't happen 12 months ago was the time to go get him and we never even tried

Or the Express; or the Star; or Gazzetta.it; or calciomercatoweb.it [who all ran the £14.4m 'story' before the Mirror]?

I guess we all only believe what we want to; whether that's a) we did low-ball; b) the 'papers' have got it wrong; or c) 'hey at least FSG tried... it's not their fault... his wife wanted London.'.

Comical how we are managing our approach to signing top players. Im all for haggling but it works when you are in a position of power not lying flat out on the deck. We should offer more straight up. Its the only way we will sign these players.

I may be giving too much credit to our committee but surely the people who bought Allen and Henderson from the bottom half of the Premier League for bigger fees didn't think this amount would be enough?
