Daily Mail reporting that he's off to Besiktas on a loan deal.

Don't see the logic at all if true.

      Echo saying this is rubbish.

Listing to TIA the other day; Atkinson and the panel think he is probably off too simply because he wants to play while he can as much as he can and at LFC he is now nothing more than a specialist with limited opportunities. They said he got on well with everybody, there was no problems with either him or the club but it was just a matter of respect allowing him to go and try to find games if that is what he wanted.

Three in the mid-field Hendo, Milner, Coutinho, Can, Lallana, Markovic, Firminho, Teixeira, Allen, Lucas.

      Lots of midfielders.

It would be very, very stupid to let him go if we're not bringing in any other defensive midfielder.

If we didn't have him, who would have played that role tonight?

I may cry if we let Lucas go.

Once again he proves all the doubters wrong in a huge game against the most attacking side in the league.

Brendan said after the game that he expects him to be here next Tuesday...I guess we will see.

Talk is he is the one that wants to move simply because of game time, nothing more.

Understandable on his behalf but surely he can get that time here God he's such a difference to that team

He wants to play as much as possible, if Hendo was not injured he probably sits all night.

Si's suggestion of him captaining early cup/Europa matches is hopefully something that is going to happen.

Hendo's/Lallana/Allen's injuries might be a blessing in disguise.

May be a tad controversial to say this, but this seems proof to me why there is no loyalty left in football.

This is a top player, performs consistently well, loves the club, loves the fans, gives 110% every time he puts our kit on. Yet he's been treated like sh*t at times here. Then we wonder why players struggle to be loyal to their clubs at times, well perhaps it's because they see that the clubs arent loyal to the players. It's a two-way street, and I don't think management gets enough stick for when this happens.

Hopefully there's nothing final about this situation. Would really love to see him compete fairly for a spot in a 3-man midfield for us and would love to see him continue to wear our kit. Not many players can wear it for us with as much dignity and pride.

So why there was/is all this rumour of him being loaned ,
maybe the player asked for the move BUT I doubt it

Lucas has been considering a move to be 1st choice somewhere, he is just squad player with us.

BR & teh club dont want him to go, but BR has probably been honest and said, hendo, milner & maybe CAN are ahead of him, cant really argue with that, and with a 4-3-3, guys like coutinho, firmino, lallana etc are also in the mix for midfield places.

Personally Id play him every week as the sitting guy, and play 4-1-3-2, but Im just a fan.

Because Liverpool will probably only utilise a true defensive midfielder in about a quarter of their games a season. If that.

It's a difficult one.  Lucas at 28 should be playing most games for a club - footballers careers are short.  Unfortunately the system we play he is rarely going to be used.

Selfishly we would like him to stay to be there when we need him but the world doesn't quite work like that.

Don't think it's like that.  I think the player himself wants to be playing every week and plenty of top European clubs would have him in every week.

Looks like Rodgers has had a rethink on the importance of Lucas to the team. Good news for Lucas fans.

Twist in Liverpool transfer saga as president reveals club have blocked approach

LIVERPOOL have blocked Lucas Leiva's loan exit to Besiktas, according to reports

The Reds were understood to have given Brazilian Lucas permission to seek another club.
A loan deal was reportedly agreed with Besiktas and terms were being discussed with the player.
But in a shock twist Liverpool have put an end to the deal, the Liverpool Echo quote Besiktas president Fikret Orman as saying.

“Liverpool to not want him to go, the transfer can only go ahead with their say so there is nothing we can do right now," Orman revealed.

I wonder, if Hendo & Allen were fit, would we have sold him? I hope after the Arsenal game, we'll see a lot more of Lucas and for him to be just as key as the likes of, Milner of Hendo.

Well I for one am pleased if he isn't leaving, while it might be the 11th hour it's still the right decision in the end.

To me were getting too caught up in the specialist DM role, first and foremost Lucas is a Midfielder, he can recycle and maintain possession as good as any other central midfielder within our squad, for me the perfect midfield 3 for us is Lucas sitting with Henderson and Milner doing the running, just my opinion but I think Lucas would be better than both Can and Allen in a midfield 3.

Great decision to keep him IMHO. We should appoint him overall club captain too, the fella epitomises everything you want in terms of professionalism and attitude. I've no doubt he's a hugely respected member of the squad, and with us having our best player a fellow countryman of his, as well as one of our most expensive signings ever, it makes huge sense.

I'm also with Blood on the midfield three should we play that system. Lucas is a better option than either Can or Allen as the holder.
