Could be bonuses after 10, 20 and then 30 in a season Si. The whole deal seemed a bit mad so I wouldn't write it off.

Don't forget it's a two year loan deal, depending on whether Atleti want to take him back in the summer.

You're right though one of those convoluted loan deals we love to specialise in.

Had a feeling this would happen so I didn't watch. Woke up to that.

Will watch later for some reason. Probably just for the comedic value.

I've got the game recorded but I think I'm going to delete it. I just dont' see any use in watching what apparently was a debacle. I was checking my twitter feed in church this morning (I normally try to wait it out and watch the game later without knowing who won) and I thought it was a joke as I started going through my timeline. Flabbergasted.

I know a lot of people have been focused on the lack of goals this season.  It wasn't great and I still think if we had a striker that scored 15+ this season, we'd have walked top 4 and got to at least one final.  Not that we would have been great, just those around us have been just as sh*t. The issue I have is more with our defence.  It's not even our goalkeeper I have the issue with, whilst not top notch, Mignolet has turned the tide a little, but I'd not put money on him seeing past next season.  Our defence has been a shambles since Rodgers got here, no matter the formation or personnel. It's not that we can't keep clean sheets, about 1 in 3 in his time here.  We've got a back line that bottles it when we concede and that includes Skrtel, a player I've stated often is a 6/10 player with the occasional 7/10 performance.  We concede one, it's more than 50% likely we concede again, we concede a second and it's a more than 50% chance we will concede again, at least once.  That's shocking for a team with ambition, it's certainly something Rodgers should have sorted out in three years.

If a tough manager comes in 3/4 of the team could be gone if we base on skills and commitment. Again, I've studied BR's approach in tactics, he is hardly an aggressive manager. Look at the players he bought, they are hardly tough tackling players, they could pass the ball well just about that and don't expect any world class moves from them because they have been trained and told to play that way ala Swansea. I'm afraid we're going to see the same thing next season if BR is still around. Time to move on to a title winning manager.

The only player that I think we bought that can;t be bullied is Sakho.

Let's put it this way, the midfield engine room is causing BR's job, if he ever looses it :-

Lallana - not taught and not told told to play to his potential, one final pass to the front line players to open up a scoring opportunity is all that is needed and he chose to pass the ball backwards. Perhaps he has been conditioned by BR  to do that on a safety first basis approach. Too lightweight to do any defending.

Hendo - Mr. neat and the running man and occasionally a world class pass, another lightweight. Putting the body in front of an opposition player with no serious intention of tackling and regain possession.

Lucas - we all know he's not the fastest, it's a perfect situation for opposition players to run pass us and not to get near him. I'll tell BR to look at the number of times that the Stoke's players ran past him to score yesterday. If Br couldn't see that, he's truly blind or too stubborn not to admit he has failed.

Allen - too lighweight, can't tackle, can't outrun and can't out muscle  the opposition players. can do neat passes just about that. Is Allen related to BR in someways?

Stevie  -  he's a yard or two slower but still much better than many of those above at the age of 33, how sad our midfield has come to this stage.

Coutinho - he offers much going forward but still too lightweight to defend.

In summary, perhaps BR still doesn't know that he has a big big big time problem in the engine room, and sentiments and standards ala swansea has caused him to continue to stick to these players. He may have knew of the problem but experience is not on his side or perhaps sentiments got in the way to allow him to rectify that. He could have lost the dressing room after the game against MU.

Looking at the starting line-up before the game, I told myself we would loose the game by 3-0, certainly not 6-1.

A manager that couldn't see such serious flaws in midfield and not fixing it but used such combination continuously is causing serious doubts on his capability and questions is now asked of his ability to keep us in the league, let alone getting into the top 4 next season. But, I strongly believe 3 seasons on BR and Pascoe is still very much remains the Swansea standard. FSG needs to be fully responsible for that for bringing in a rookie manager and I'm not going to start on the TC which was already deliberated at length already.

Have to disagree with this one, he seems to be the only player that consistently gets between players and the goal. My only criticism is that he often gives away soft free kicks in dangerous areas, particularly late on in games.

I see Brendan is talking about a lot of re-building. It says something when a lot of re-building is needed after £200m has already been spent not to mention that he was supposed to have done a lot of that re-building at the beginning of this season.

Thought he was shocking defending a far post header but actually defending on the deck he's by far the best we've seen this season.

I think he was dropped in favour of the 'free RB role' that Can seemed to be moulded into, one that had been tried (I'm told) by Guardiola previously.

It failed with Can, no worries for trying but I have massive issues with watching it fail, then fail again and fail some more while the poor lad gets put under more pressure from the opposition, put under an even bigger microscope by the pundits to the point he is clearly suffering mentally out there.

That, for me, was terrible management.

Have to agree with this Lukey lad, this is typical of Brendan's stubbornness and failing to right a wrong, Christ even playing a inefficient Johnson in his own position would have been better, playing a young lad like Can in a spot he's inexperienced at and obviously uncomfortable in could be more damaging particularly in the confidence department, so yeah Definitely bad management by BR, how he failed to see it is beyond me imho.
