Mariann Ancelotti (right) says her and her husband will remain in Spain to visit the country and allow the coach to consider his long-term future.
Mariann Ancelotti, the wife of the Italian coach, was interviewed by the magazine Vanity Fair after her husband was dismissed by Real Madrid.
âIf Real had wanted, Carlo would have continued. But it did not happen and Carlo wants to ârecharge his batteriesâ here before making a decision about which club will be his next,â she said before adding that they will go to her home in Vancouver (Canada) for the summer.
Regarding the coachâs decision to take a sabbatical year in Spain, Mariann explained the motives: âWe wanted to take advantage of the possibility to know places in Spain we have not been able to visit up to now. Also museums, restaurants etc. In addition, we are going to have a new member of our family shortly and we look forward to the arrival of Alessandro, Katiaâs son.
Additionally, the people of Madrid are incredible. They have supported us a lot and they have transmitted their respect to us and the enormous appreciation that they have for Carlo. We are very grateful to the people for their affection and loyalty.â
She also went over her life in the Spanish capital: âWhat I like the most are the terraces and the way in which people enjoy being on the street. There is a fantastic climate and a lot of light in the city. As I grew up with a lot of nature, the truth is that I spend a lot of time in El Retiro (Retiro Park). It is one of the nicest parks that I know. In each corner there is something different to see and you always discover something new.â
