Yep he's been sh*te, even defending for them in that first half, should have picked up a yellow and totally lost Koscielny.

Mertesacker was his man on that third goal. Hopefully the transfer committee is watching this game.

Totally agree. Least the lads done us a favour by knocking at least 12.5 mill off his fee. Mind you, much as he was sh!te (and f*ck me was he or what?) Villa were awful, totally abysmal. If this was horse racing there'd be a stewards enquiry when they played like they did against us in the semi final then like that today. They must be an unbelievably frustrating team to play up top for.

I think we'll be spending nearly £25m on him though, £25m that can be put towards a player that actually does fit our style.

Our last 3 strikers bought suggests we're really after a target man but we don't play to suit them.

As for Villa being worse, not particularly they were simply against a side who could dominate them the way we should have been able to.

I feel sorry for Benteke if he comes here for that price. He's simply not worth that amount of pressure, in my opinion. I don't think he's anywhere near consistent enough.

It'll turn out like another case of Heskey. Maybe a few games in a season where there's a few goals, but will not live up to the price tag and will fizzle out.
